Is a ten day pass to Disneyland too long?

Hi everyone,
Since there isn't much of a price difference between a 5 and a 10 day pass - has anyone found it too long?

We've booked ten nights at Hojo's kids suites for September - the timing will be for September 26th onwards - so we'll be there for Halloween and Gay days. My boys will totally love it but will my poor hubby?:confused3

I'm still stalking for good air fares for 2A and 2C from Sydney... can't decide whether to wait longer or just jump in and buy now! Aaaarrrggghhhh....:headache:

The DIS is great and the Aussie information is great! Thanks for any replies.

I personally think 5 days would be cramming it - I LOVE DL, for my next visit I will opt for a 10 day pass, even if we only stay for 8 - still beats 5! :) I always think, what if we traveled all that way, and it rained for a few of the days, or if someone wasn't well....even if not the more time in DL the better. Your husband may enjoy it far more than you think, after all it is the Happiest Place on Earth :rotfl:

We had the 14 day pass and that was not too long. It's good to have that flexibility to even pop in for a few hours at night after a day of doing other things :thumbsup2

A 10 day pass is great. You don't have to go for the full 10 days but this way you can if you want to.

Also Virgin have a sale on at the moment.

Thanks for the reassurances! Probably only going to do 8/9 nights but since we've come such a long way ... why not?

I'm stalking the Virgin website - I need fares from September 12th to October 6th - travelling school hols seems to be less specials. I'm going to hit flight centre for their price beat pricing, I always look online and then ask very nicely for them to match it for me.

I am kicking myself though, the fares in early December to LAX with virgin were under $5000 for the 4 of us and then the prices went up!

Try checking fares through the Delta website too, they codeshare with Virgin and I've often found the fares are cheaper for the same flight through the Delta system.

Ooohh yes this just happened for us!! We are flying over on a Virgin Plane but the ticket is from Delta - the exact same flight but with the ticket coming from Virgin was dearer. I received some great advice from here & looked on kayak.com.au & managed to get Flight Centre to knock $600 off what they had quoted for our flights. I'm pretty sure the Virgin sale ends today...

I love using kayak! A really handy site.

Fiji airways keeps coming up cheaply - they're great for a flight to Fiji - not so sure about to LAX though. Reviews of them don't seem great but I may be wrong (and desperate enough too). I really need that 2 x 23kg baggage allowance too..:thumbsup2. I'm going to the outlets in Las Vegas.

The flight centre travel expo is coming to Sydney but I don't know how good it'll be.

Thanks again everyone!

I personally would go crazy after more than three or four days, but I get to go a few times per year, so I don't think I count in this one. I had no idea you could get tickets for that many days! Hope you have fun!

Definitely not too long. We used every day of our 10 day pass this past May. Of course not all day every day, but a few full days, a few half days and a few nights. We looooved it. Hubby also loved it. I think 10 days was about enough though:)
We also stayed some of our trip in the Kids Suite at the Hojo. It was really good. We picked up Maccas on a few mornings. If we had a later start we ate at Millie's or Mimis.

Kayak is your friend::yes::
In regards to Fiji air, they have recently introduced brand new planes on the Nadi-lax route, which have been getting great reviews, they definetely are a good option and you can stop on the way home for a few days of relaxation if you have the time.

Oh thanks for the responses!

We'd definitely be doing half days - it's a nice thought to not have to rush around. It is a shame Hojo's doesn't have an onsite restaurant but we have so many different places we'll have to try and need to walk all those calories off.

I've definitely mulled over having a few nights in fiji - I just love the islands - but I think we probably just want to go home after 3 and 1/2 weeks.

I need to find a money tree:)

Definitely not :goodvibes

If the 10 day pass is only a few $$ more than a 5 day pass, it's definitely worth getting, even if you don't use all 10 days.

We had 6 day passes for our last trip, and neither of us had quite had enough by the end (although DH probably wouldn't have lasted too much longer, while I could have stayed for a month :rotfl:). I've heard of Aussies going over and getting annual passes for stays of 2 weeks or more, and they love it!

The good thing about the 10 day pass is there's less pressure to squeeze every bit of time out of it that you can. For example, with the 10 day pass, you might want to have a trip to the beach or something during the day, and you can just pop in to the parks for a few hours that night. With the 5 day passes, you'd be less inclined to want to 'waste' one of your days using only a few hours of it.

FWIW, for our next trip, we'll only be staying in Anaheim for 7 nights, and only have plans to visit the parks 5 days of that. However, I will still consider purchasing 10 day passes. I'll just work out the daily rate for 5 day passes, work out what the cost of an 8 day pass would be using that same rate, and if it's the same or less for the 10 day pass, we'll get that instead for the flexibility.

"too long"...there is such a thing as "too long" at disney!?! :confused3

We are going there in May and will be getting the 10 day passes. We have booked DLH for 3 nights and Hojo's for 6. We are planning on going to Knottsberry Farm, Southcoast Plaza and the Citadel outlets from Hojos. Our kids are 4, 7 and 8 so we want to just take it easy and not feel rushed :)

We're going soon and have opted for the 10 day pass. Mainly for the reasons already listed, but also so we can avoid weekends. With only one adult and three children it was the perfect flexible option for me :)

10 days is not to long at all ;)

We flew Fiji airways (air pacific) in 2010 I would do it again if the price is right we had massages during the stopover on the way over was great to stretch our legs as well on the way back we just stayed 1 night and did a cruise of the islands it was a great way to break up coming home :)

Ooh a massage - I didn't notice massages last time we were at Nadi airport! What a brilliant idea! We thought if we purchased too much "necessary" stuff in the US we can always ship it home if we flew Fiji airways.

If you book it though Qantas the price should be roughly the same and you use to get Qantas's baggage allowance then not sure if they have changed that when we flew them we had the 2 bags each anyway but it's probably worth checking ;)
