Is a screen dining tent a must have?

I really don't want to spend the money on one if we aren't really going to use it. Do you have one and do you think it was worth the money? We will be in a pop-up. My fiance is worried that if we do not have one we will be eaten alive by bugs.

We tent camp and for us it's definitely a necessity! But, if you can escape the bugs & rain by going into the popup, then you'll be fine. If you're planning on eating on the picnic table all the time though, then I would strongly suggest a screen tent. ::yes::

It really depends on when you are going. We generally go in November when bugs aren't such an issue and eat outside all the time without a screened shelter with no problems.

We tent camp, so we really enjoy having the screenhouse as an optional location to cook, sit and relax without worrying about bugs. Plus, it allows us to keep all of our cooking things inside it so our stuff isn't just laying around in the open, if you know what I mean.

We are hoping to become pop-up camper owners somewhere in the future, but we'd still be interested in using our screenhouse unless we get a pop-up with a screenhouse attachment.

We go in the summer in a camper and we do need to stay inside to get cool, we have always found that it is too hot to stay outside.

We have a popup and bring a screen room but rarely ever set it up. In the winter when its cool out bugs are not much of a problem and in the summer we would rather eat in the A/C anyway. So if your pop up has A/C I don't think a screen room is a necessity. But without A/C I am sure we would set up and use the screen room more.

We have a screen room and don't always use it. When we do enjoy having it is when the mosquitos are bad, also if off and on rain showers it's nice to keep the things on the picnic table dry. Also good storage for our bikes at night. We camp just about every month and only use the screen room on week long stays and maybe summer weekend trips depending on rain and bugs.

The screen room is always with us...just in case.

Thanks all for your comments. I was looking at a couple of message boards that list discounts and deals and I saw a post about screen tents at Big Lots. They have a 12'x12' for $30. I'm sure it's cheaply made, but I figure that is all we need for now. I went down to Big Lots and snatched up the last one! :teeth:
