We are looking into buying someone a portable dvd player and this brand is having a big sale- and we dont want to just buy it cause its on sale. So whats anyones experience with this brand and yeah it is a 7inch screen. Thanks for your help

We have this brand and it works great. My sister just went and bought herself one as well. I got it from Costco in March with $50 rebate for $100 with shipping and she got hers at brandsmart for $140 yesterday. Highly recommend it.

Kohls has it on its black friday special for 159.99 and it says 7' inch dvd player with carrying case two headphones and remote control- originally 229.99- I appreciate your help

We've had a portable Mintek for at least two years. It replaced a Panasonic that we purchased at Best Buy which lasted only a few months. We had to replace the Mintek once, also. Ours is in our son's room, and gets very heavy use--daily, at least 30 mins, sometimes 2-3 hrs. We originally intended to use it in the car to entertain our son on trips. We replaced it with an Eddie Bauer that attaches to the seat because the Mintek kept falling on the floor, which affected the optics, which caused it to need replacement. I am very satisfied with both players.

And love it, of course I snagged it for $35.00 on clearance a few months back it the BX, but even if I had paid full price I would be happy. No issues at all, except it does get a bit hot while in use.

We have a 7" one we bought at Costco last spring...no problems with it whatsoever.

I also bought mine at Costco in the Spring and we just love it. Mintek seems to be a pretty good product. My BIL bought a Cyberhome and it fried after a week of use.

Our Costco just had the 8" DVD Player w/carrying case and 2 sets of headphones for $149.99. It was one of their after-Thanksgiving coupons and was supposed to be a 7" but supposedly the manfacturer sent the 8" instead. People were grabbing them off the pallets. I got one as well as our current portable DVD is only 5" and weighs about twice as much as the new ones.

My ds has the Mintek from Costco and she loves it. We bought the Audiovox from Costco and they seem about the same to me.

We have this same exact player for our little one and it works great! My DD can be a little rough on it while on road trips but the player still works great, no problems to report.

We have this brand and it is excellent. The picture quality is great and so is the sound. My 3 year old spends lots of time at hospitals and doctors offices. We take it everywhere. Have had it about 8 months. It has taken many falls and still works like the first day we got it.
It is great!

Consumer Reports had a short article on portable dvd's this issue. Mintek was one of the ones recommended. The only bad thing it mentioned was some lid issue-a little delicate apparently. I don't have a portable dvd myself, so I can't personally say either way.
