Is a king bed in a room really considered an upgrade??

I just got my confirmation papers from the Boardwalk. We're going next week (yippeeee!). Anyway, it said in the paperwork: "Standard bedding at this hotel is 2 Queen beds. An upgrade to a King bed may be available for an additional charge."

When I reserved the room, I requested a King bed and a daybed because we'll also have a crib in the room, and I wanted a bit more floor space. No one ever said the King bed would be more expensive.

Any thoughts about this?

Thanks!

Wow, that is kind of strange. It is only at the Moderate resorts where a King Bed would be an additional amount each night. In fact, the King Bed rooms are the same price as Water Views at the Moderates. So, booking a Standard View and getting a King Bed room at the same price would be considered an upgrade.

At the Deluxe resorts, a King Bed room is just a request. I don't see a King Bed room as a separate category on my travel agent chart. So, I'm presuming that message comes up automatically for some reason when you make such a request.

Have a great trip! :)

King rooms and queens are priced the same. However, "views" are priced differently. It sounds like you just recently made the ressie as you just got the confirmation and are going next week. There are a limited number of rooms with kings at BW Inn. The issue you might be facing is that the only remaining kings not requested before you did are with views that cost more than the view you reserved. You may want to call and get clarification. As for a daybed all the Inn rooms have them.
