Is A Jacket Required??

We are 1st time cruisers from UK cruising Wonder on 10th Feb. I am trying to pack light as the cruise is part of a hotel and villa holiday. Do I need to pack a jacket for DH or will trousers and shirt do? How formal is the dress? Thanks.

I came on to post this very same question because I need to know too! I've read that a collared shirt or polo shirt and slacks are fine and I've also read that a jacket is required but not necessarily a tie. In 14 years of marriage I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen my DH in a jacket an tie and one of them was our wedding!!

Here's hoping slacks and a nice shirt are fine!!

Hi..my fiance absolutly refuses to wear a jacket....So i was extremely happy to read on the 2005 Cruise Guide (www.wdwig.com) that you are NO LONGER required to wear a jacket or tie to Palo's..just slacks and a collared button down shirt.........YIPPEE! I was having a hard time trying to get him to wear it, even on formal night. So I booked Palo's on the formal night! (I booked REAS just so I could do this!).lol......

We went last Sept and DH wore a shirt and tie (because his anal-planning DW packed the wrong suit jacket - I could NOT believe I did that! ) to Palo's and he felt fine. As a matter of fact, the only jacket I remember seeing was on a member of the crew dining there.

I have to say that I like that Palo's and Triton's recommend a jacket for us menfolk. It's a nice middle ground. We've never done longer than a 4-day, so we have no experience with a 'formal' night, but I really think it takes away something when the next table over is wearing shorts and t-shirts.

Although, even a jacket can't class me up when I'm double-fisting the calamari at Palo's. That might be the best food item on the entire ship (other than the desserts).
