Is a budget Easter holiday trip possible?

Hi everyone

I'm really hoping you can give us some ideas. We are very happy booking everything seperately when it comes to our Disneyworld trips, but really don't know where to start with DLRP once you move away from the Disney packages. We are looking to go 7th to 11th April, don't mind on or off site as long as we can get to the parks easily by train or bus on a daily basis, we will need tickets and would be happiest travelling by eurostar from st Pancras, although we don't mind changing at Lillie or elsewhere to keep the prices down. In an ideal world I'd love to get this trip for around £8-900 max for 2 adults and a 10yo. So far with my research it is around £1100. As I said I can tell if prices are realistic when it comes to WDW but am completely out of my depth here!

Any help really appreciated. Many thanks.
Suzanne

I've had a quick look and it looks like offsite will be your best option. I've found...

Indirect Eurostar via Lille - £222
4 nights at the Residhome Val d'Europe - £334 (I've never stayed there but might next time as it's right next to the RER station. DLP is just 2 minutes up the line)
Annual Fantasy pass for 1 adult & 1 child - £199 (there don't seem to be any blackout dates for 7-11 April but you might want to double check!)
Annual Dream pass for 1 adult (if think you'll benefit from the better discounts) - £152, otherwise £126 for an adult fantasy pass
Total - £902

I found the pass prices on supertrips.net

Hope this helps!

Whatever you do stay away from cheyenne.
I went budget this week by staying there and wished that i had paid £100 more and had gone back to newport bay.

this is really great information for you OP - just to add, for a once-only trip, personally I wouldn't buy a Dream AP, and unless you want to go into the parks for extra magic hours, i wouldn't bother with a fantasy either for the one adult, i'd go for a classic (paid for in full and applied for in the post to DLP themselves in the next month or so) as this will get you the park access you need for 135 euros. You don't have blackout dates on your proposed trip at all on either the Classic or Fantasy AP -

In hindsight I agree! I tend to go for the Dream automatically as I try to get at least two trips out of it I don't always know when they will be so don't want to plan around blackout dates. I do like access to EMH though so would go for a Fantasy as a minimum. I guess it depends what you think you'll need.

Hi
Thank you so much for your replies, I would never have even considered looking at annual passes. We have been a bit put off this evening though as we have been checking the refurbs and some of our favourites will be closed :-( this was one of the reasons for skipping WDW this year and now prices are more affordable we are questioning this trip too. Thanks for your help, will let you know how our research goes.
