I realize that this may be a silly thing to be thinking about but here goes. We are arriving on a Friday in June by plane that is supposed to land at 5:20. We are taking Magical Express (never done this before) to POR. Friends are arriving by car the next day. My family LOVES the Yachtsman Steakhouse and have had nice meals there. I have gotten the impression from our friends that they don't want to plan to do anything more expensive or dressy than say RFC/WCC when they are on vacation. Actually it's my friend's dh. I know if we plan to dine there once they are there she will NOT want us to split up, will go along, and her dh will probably give her a hassle about the expense of the meal. I don't want to put anyone in that position but it's our vacation too, and we didn't eat at the Yachtsman last year since they were with us. Sooooo...I have been thinking that if our flight isn't terribly delayed and we land by 5:30, we can allow time to get to check into POR, we dress in khakis, sundresses, etc. when we travel so no need to change, just freshen up, and we could take a cab to get to the YC in time for a 9 p.m. a.r.
Will we feel rushed or that the food isn't what it would be at an earlier time? I say that because locally we have a good steak place but if you aren't seated by 8:30 the food and service declines. Hopefully the YSH isn't that way. Any comments are welcomed.
