Is 825 too late for ADR?

I can make an ADR for 405 or 825 for Ohana for our last day and wanted your opinions on each time. We are staying at the Contemporary and on that day we will spend the morning at HS and the afternoon/evening at MK. Additionally, we will spend the following day at MK before heading to see family in Orlando. How long does dinner at Ohana last? Would we still be able to have fun in the park after 825 or should we try to get to the park earlier in the afternoon and just end at dinner? Thanks for any feedback! Oh, one more thing, we have two children, ages 4 & 8, and we also have another full day at MK prior to this day.

I think 8:25 is too late for small children. Ohana is often behind and you might not get a table till 9 of so. It can take about an hour to an hour and a half. So maybe close to 11 before you could get back to MK. I would do the 4 reservation and then enjoy the evening in the park.

I also second on 4 ADR. I think 8:25 for 4 and 8 y/o is really late. As PP said that Ohana usually runs late. We've always waited extra 15~30 minutes at Ohana dinner. If you take 8:25 ADR, you will likely be done close to 10 and from my experience little ones don't enjoy dinner that late and when little ones are cranky, the adults also suffer. ;)

When do you usually eat? 8:30 seems like normal dinner time to me, but I've been told by the Dis, that with kids, that's nuts. Reason number elventy I don't have my own.

That would be way too late for us or our kids, but everyone is different. On vacation we eat pretty much the same time as at home to keep the kids on a somewhat normal schedule. Although we do stay out later than bedtime. But we'd all be starving by then. We eat around 6pm at home so I make my ADRs no earlier than 5:30 and no later than 6:30 and even that is pushing it. I'm not sure I'd want to go back to the parks by that point as you wouldn't be done until 9:30 maybe 10pm and have to go back through security. Since you are already park hopping that day I'd try and just stay in MK to eat dinner and not go in and out of a park again. That sucks up a lot of time.

Every family is different. Only you know what is best for your family. Can your 4 year old really eat a full meal at 8:25 PM? As adults that would be fine for our family, but I wonder about young ones
Only you can decide, not strangers on the internet

Thank you for the feedback. Those of you who told me about the nature of 'Ohana being consistently late were very helpful! That is really helpful information. My family eats at different times due to activities and two working parents, and while they could eat at 8:25, I think the better bet would be to eat earlier and perhaps get a snack later if they are hungry. Thanks you for the helpful insight.

I would do the earlier Ohana...I would not bet on getting into Ohana with t he late one until more like 9pm. Been there, done that, not gonna ever do it again!

My worst experience at Ohana was a late ADR with my 8 and 9 year olds.. My son was tired, cranky and then didnt feel good.. He was simply overtired and ill due to that.. we then rushed our meal and left the place.. the next year we did a much earlier one and MUCH better... Also what time of year.. it was hot when we were there and the heat and exhaustion did him in.... 4pm is not too. I would start with an early day and then the early dinner is like an afternoon break... you need to head over to the poly starting a little after 3pm anyways....

oh and one more thing that did son in was the looong wait.. too.... Ohana runs late and the later the ADR expect an easy 45 m inute wait.
