Is 73 shorts or pants weather?

I am leaving tomorrow for my one day WDW trip. It is supposed to be 73/74. Will I be ok in pants or do I need shorts?

Either one. 73 degree weather feels good in shorts, and is ok in pants. In weather like they are having now (which should extend until the 17th when we go), I would wear shorts and carry a windbreaker or sweatshirt. (or I might wear my convertible pants (zip off legs to become shorts)

For me, 73/74 degrees as the high for the day is pants weather in the morning, and shorts weather noon and beyond, until the sun goes down when it's back to pants weather. If it's 74 degrees out in Orlando and sunny, you may appreciate shorts especially when you are not in the shade.

Also, a word about weather forecasts in Orlando. The forecast for the next day in Orlando can be 2-4 degrees wrong. Even worse, on many days during visits to Disney I have watched the weather channel that very morning only to experience temperatures later that day 2-3 degrees different from what was forecast in the morning for that day. So you may have seen a forecast for Orlando/WDW that says 73/74, but that doesn't mean it won't change. You could still see 75-77 degrees of actual temperature when the time comes, and that is definitely shorts weather, at least for me. If I were you, and if you will be carrying some sort of backpack or other carry-bag, take a pair of shorts with you to the parks in case you start sweating around 2:00pm and wish you could trade your pants for some shorts.

According to weather.com it should be in the upper 70's to 80 most of next week. My question is, will it be humid?? We were there the end of September last year and it was SO HUMID; heat is fine but the humidity gets to me. What should I expect for next week?

I would be in shorts and a tank top, which is what I almost always wear at the parks. But I take a long-sleeve t-shirt in my backpack that I can put on if I get cold in an attraction or at night.

Being a northern gal myself, anything above 75 and I'm starting to sweat. So I'd be wearing shorts and a tank top, with maybe a long sleeve tee wrapped around my waist for the evening. BAck in '93, my high school marching band went to WDW to march in the parade a few days after Christmas. Looking back at all my old pictures, I was in shorts and t-shirts the whole time.

for me, anything below 80 degrees is sweater weather! If you plan on doing a lot of indoor attractions/shows, bring a light cover up. they keep the AC pretty cool inside.

It depends how windy it is, and how cold it is in the am and pm, too. It also depends how long you plan on being outside. If you are talking a park day, or a shopping day, where you're just going to be outside for a little while.

Sometimes it can be very mild in the morning, and you feel like being in shorts all day. Other times, it is very cold in the morning, and even though it gets up to 73, you still feel like wearing pants all day, and maybe a tank top in the afternoon. In any case, I'd wear something warm in the evening.

I live here in Orlando and a high of 72 means jeans and a long sleeve shirt during the day for me, plus a jacket for the mornings and evenings. Especially if it's windy. We were at Epcot on Saturday and we were quite chilly all day. It was 52 this morning when I left the house at 7:30 AM. But, I hate cold weather!

That definitely sounds like weather for shorts. However, if it starts to rain, well, that may be a different story as the temps can drop by 10 degrees and leave you cold & wet. This happened to my family back in Sept as we chucked it to Chef Mickey's in the rain & wind with it. My little ones teeth were chattering by the time we got there!

Are you having a laugh......im fae Scotland and 73 is Bikini weather !! :beach:

Oh yes I am a wimp!! LOL. I've lived in Florida for 13 years and my blood has thinned out. Anything below 75 is uncomfortable for me!!:rotfl2:

On the other hand, I am very comfortable during our hot Florida summers, so that is something I guess!

It is amazing how fast your blood thins out once you move to Florida. I lived the vast majority of my life in the midwest, so I know what cold is like. I've now lived in Orlando a little over three years. Yesterday, it was in the low 70s here with a pretty good breeze. I had on shorts and a t-shirt and was bit chilled. In the late afternoon, DD and I walked around DTD to see The Festival of the Masters artwork. I had to wear a sweatshirt. :confused3

I'd say that you'd be comphy in shorts during the day.......I'm from Maine and 73 is a heatwave for me! But do bear in mind that the weather can vary greatly in FL! You may need sweatshirts and or jackets for the evening.:thumbsup2

It realy depends on you. Would you wear shorts and a tee shirt back home when it was 73/74 outside? If the answer is yes then it would be yes at WDW.

It's usually not as humid as it is in the summer. We're leaving on Saturday (17), and I expect the weather to be beautiful. All the major weather websites (weather.com; accuweather.com; wunderground.com) agree that it should be in the high 70s/low 80s, with little chance of rain (20% or below, all but one day with 30%).

that way you'll be able to go into the evening hours without having to change.

Me too!! I'm not from Florida, but I am a southern person (NC born, bred and still living there!). My theory is this. Anything below 70 degrees is unnecessary.

And uncomfortable.

Just got back yesterday and while it was really nice during the day. It got windy at night and we froze. Definitely pants and a jacket.
