Is 7 hours at Sea World worth the time and money?

We want to do this, but with the travel time and cost, for 7 hours in the park, we aren't sure if it's worth it.

Thanks,

Traci

I meant to post this in the Calif. thread. Sorry!

My personal feelings about Sea World aside, it is very expensive. Depending on when you go, there may only be one or two of the big shows (Shamu, dolphins) scheduled per day.

I noticed that unlike Disneyland, SW charges for things that would be free at DL, or otherwise included in the price of admission.

It really all depends on what you want to see. 7 hours is probably enough.

All that being said, we won't be back to Sea World.

If you haven't been to a SeaWorld, you should. It's a great and different experience. 7 hours sounds good. It is semi zoo like with walk through exhibits, a few rides and a few great shows.

I liked Sea World and thought they had a lot of interesting things there. I would not spend a whole day there and would not go back if I had to pay for tickets (I won a pair). The money you will spend on tickets and gas is just not worth it. I would rather have an extra day in DL or go to the beach.

You most likely wouldn't spend more than 7 hrs there anyway. It's a long drive though. Are tickets $$$?

Thanks everyone for the replies!

We would have to do some kind of Grayline Tour/Ticket package which runs about $70 per person for admission and travel. I just keep thinking about spending 5 hours on a bus, and even if 7 hours at SW is enough, do I want to do that, or spend it at DL.

Are there any day tours that are in "the area" like LA, Bev. Hills, etc. that a 10 yo might like? I guess we could go back to Universal since it's been 4 years??? But then again I think, because we are already getting 6 day ph, we can add a 7th day for $5 rather than pay another park full admission for one day.

Help!

Sit on the right side going and the left side returning. You will get some good ocean views for a decent part of the trip.

When are you going? 4 days in DLR may be good and another couple days in between or to start could be fun.

You might do a starline tour of the Hollywood area. Universal might be fun since they have redone the Studio Lot Tour after the fire and are adding Transformers early next year.

You might conside the Socal citypass for US, SW and DL if 2012. 2011 includes the zoo. But then you wouldn't need the Grayline ticket/transport deal. You'd have to use the trains(amtrak or Metro/Coaster or rent a car.

You might consider the Hollywood Citypass too.
