Is 66-70 degrees cold?

Weather forecast has the start of our trip (mar 4-11) with a high of 66 for the first few days. Is that warm enough for shorts? I don't know how many pairs of jeans to pack. hmmmmm. It's sad...I can't even remember what that feels like. I know it's warmer than here (30s) but still.....

You'll do okay in shorts if it is 66-70 degrees and SUNNY. If it is overcast, you might want long pants. Any breeze will make it seem cooler as well. For myself, I'd wear long pants, short sleeves and have some sort of light jacket or sweatshirt handy.

For that weather I usually do capris or cropped jeans. I would wear a short sleeved shirt and layer a sweater on top. I would probably wind up tying it around my waist by late morning, though.

Be careful, though as we just returned from a mid Feb trip and the forecasts were off mark!!(accuweather.com and weatherchannel.com) It was supposed to be about the temps you're expecting, but it was about 10 degrees warmer every day!! It was fine as I had packed a little of this and that, but I didn't pack our swimsuits (dumb) and my kids really could have used them.

I think coming from Ohio you will find that warm. www.wftv.com is a good local station for the weather. You might want pants for the evening.

I'll be there 3/5-3/12, and accuweather originally predicted lower temps, but now they're saying it will be 70-75 the whole trip!! I'm planning on mostly capris w/t-shirts, and zipper sweatshirt to tie around my waist if it warms up.

I'll ALSO be in Orlando from 3-05 through 3-12. I hope it is warm enough for shorts. I wanna get out of this COLD and snowy weather in the Wash, DC area. So is 70 degree weather too cold for an outdoor pool?

Welcome to the DIS.

If you are staying on site the pools are heated. I think 70 will feel pretty warm to you.

Pack all types of clothing. We just returned from a week at WDW...The first two days were in the 80's, then it rained and was in the 60's. We ended the week in the 70's. It was warm the entire time....even when it rained. Be prepared for all types of weather. I obsessively watched the forecasts on different sites, and they were really not even close to being accurate. The weather in Florida is so variable...they get weather patterns from all over. Don't be upset if the weather prediction is not great. It is Disney and it will be wonderful if it is or

The above is local and I checked everyday when we were there Feb 9- 19/05 and it was very accurate. Never go with accuweather... it was off everyday (way off) when we went to Cuba, as in stating it was sunny when it was pouring rain, lol......haven't trusted it since

We had those temps, we were fine in shorts/capris and a very light Jacket or sweatshirt with a T-shirt underneath because by afternoon, T-shirts are fine. My DS and DH just wore a T-shirt but they are more warm blooded then I am. DS swam everyday.

I think that is really different for each person. Me I would need jeans and a lite shirt and sweater/jacket, my DH he would be in shorts.. I get cold very easily and anything below about 75 is cold to me

If you live here, yes it is a bit nippy. For those coming from places where the high is in the 30's it will likely feel pretty balmy. You will be laughing at all of us in our jeans and sweatshirts shunning the waterparks and pools!

One thing to remember is that if you head out to the parks in the morning it might still be in the upper 40s or low 50s which is not shorts weather for most folks. And if your'e in the parks for PM fireworks it might also be to chilly for shorts.

Isn't it funny how we get so mired in winter that we "forget" what 60 degree weather feels like? Here's a tip - pick the month in your local area that most resembles March in Orlando and prepare for that. For example, if you're from Dayton, pretend like you're packing to visit Dayton in late September/ early October.
