...a reservation at Rose & Crown for a 9PM Illuminations?

I wanted 7:30 PM but 6:55 was all that was available. We do plan on ordering drinks, appetizers, entree, drinks with the entree, dessert, and one of the coffee drinks.

I don't want to be rude and take up too much time... what do you guys think? :confused3

It's a little early, but depending on how things are going at Rose & Crown it might not matter to much. I've had a 7:30 pm ADR in the past and not been seated until 8:00 pm so we were still eating when Illuminations started. Given that it sounds like you're planning a full meal, 7:00 pm probably isn't entirely unreasonable. Just remember that there is no guarantee you'll get a table on the patio.

I'm crossing my fingers for patio :goodvibes but not really expecting it. If we aren't seated outside, there's a place we can go stand to watch during our meal, right?

I'm in a similar situation. I wouldn't worry about being seating inside or out as you'll be escorted to a private viewing area if you're seated inside and still there during Illuminations. The issue is that pesky 2 hr window.

If Illuminations is taking place at 9, your ressie time is just outside of that 2 hr window. However, if you arrive- let's say 5 min late (I've heard up to 15 min late is acceptable for any ADR - but I don't think I'd push it that far) and were seated right away- you'd suddenly be in that 2 hr window. And supposedly, the odds of being seated on time or even close to on time at R&C are pretty slim...i.e. it's more likely than not that you'll be seated within that 2 hr window. I know some people may find it rude to try and hog the table to try and watch the show during dinner, but if what you're doing is within the rules and you continue to order food and drinks to pass the time- people need to get over it.

This is kind of what we're counting on. Illuminations is at 9:30 when we're going. The best I could get for our initial party of 6 is 7:40 (booked when our 180 days opened up online - right at 5am:sad1:)- which just barely puts us in that 2 hr window, but the other 2 people who have joined our group couldn't get anything better than 7:25. I keep trying for a better time for all 8 of us, but so far nothing. So, fingers crossed that we're able to make this work. Good luck with your situation! :thumbsup2

Yes, ask your server. If you aren't finished eating or even if you finish a little before IllumiNations starts, there is an area outside of the restaurant that is just for people who are dining at the R&C.

Thanks, I hope it works out for you too :goodvibes

Thank you for the info :thumbsup2

We had a 6:45pm ADR this year because last year we had a 7:30 ADR and waited almost an hour for a table! I figured with 6:45pm, with a bit of a wait, timing should be perfect. We always order an appetizer (SCOTCH EGG YUMMY), take our time to order and eat, and have lots of coffee.

We got the most incredible table out on the patio too.

Not that anyone wants to wait an excessive amt of time to be seated, but in this case...I'm hoping we have the same kind of wait you experienced.
