I thought 200 points would be enough with my initial purchase. One year later I have already added on twice!

thanks for the help.. I will admit that a part of why I want to buy into DVC is to be able to vacation with family down the road once I do have more points and DH and I have children. The last time I was in Disney I realized how great it is being there with extended family... although I do see what you mean about having enough points to have 2 reservations and cancelling one.

I have just purchased a small resale of 50 points with the thought that I will add 25 more from Disney. For me this is perfect because I will plan to go every other year. The great thing is that later on down the road if you want to add more or your family expands and you want to go more often you can do that. It is easy (I think) to start small and grow =)

Well, my wife and I purchased 55 points at the BCV and we are now waiting for it to go through the ROFR. Even though it is not official, I have no buyer's remorse and I'm very excited about the purchase. I know it will probably take a couple of months for everything to go through before I can actually reserve a room, but I still can't wait.

We started small... 50 points OKW and then about 1 year later a 25 pt add on... our children are still babies and when I have cash I may buy another 25, but for now 75 gets us a Studio for a week every year with a little left over so in three years we will have enough "banked" for a 1 br LOL...

Good choice with BC and a small contract. However, those get ROFR'd a LOT since there is a lot of demand for small add ons at BC so I really hope you will pass. Would you mind sharing what you paid? Also, this info can then be added to our ROFR thread that helps keep track of the prices that are passing and which are not.

Congratulations on jumping in!!! Hope it's smooth sailing for you. But if Disney snatches it up... don't worry... just grab another one! And at least you know you made a good decision!!!

It went to Disney on 2-20-08 and I got and e-mail today (3-10-08) from GMAC that Disney waived their right to buy! So just a few more weeks to wait for the title company!

Oh these are so true!!! We started with 2 bedrooms...

We started with 100 points, added 110 and plan on adding at GC. When will we finally have enough points?

I started with 60 points and it's worked well for me. I normally travel adventure season, September or early December, and have enjoyed OKW, BWV-Std, AKV-Std. It has been a great purchase.
