I'm really want to get into DVC, but really don't know where to start, and don't want to spend an arm and a leg. I found 50 points at AKV, and wondering if I should start there. How easy is it to buy extra points? TIA!:goodvibes

:rotfl: Should have thought about that... Of course they will make it easy for you to spend your money!!!

Lol ! Exactly what pp said !!

We started off on our DVC adventure buying a small resale contract & continued ( & continue STILL ! :lmao: ) to build from there. It's not a bad way to start & gives you flexibility to decide as you go along to do add-on(s) for additional points if you'd like more instead of starting off buying an amount of points you are not really sure you'd fully make use of.

Also, in the distant future should you find your vacation habits change & maybe you don't need as many points this gives you the option of easily selling off an add-on contract or two.

With a 50 point contract you can get approx. 3 - 5 nights in a studio depending on season. If you bank one year's points into next Use Year you'd have 100 points to use every other year. Or with banking & borrowing you can have 150 points to use every three years.

A small contract is a great way to start. Make sure you follow the standard of buying where you want to stay.

Don'y forget you can bank and borrow, that will get you 150 points a shot. That is more than enough for a SUN-Thur stay at AKV in a studio.
