Hi everyone.

I have ADR's on 5 character meals and I was looking for some opinions.

Breakfast @ Crystal Palace
Lunch @ Garden Grill
Breakfast @ 'Ohanas
Breakfast @ Tusker House
Breakfast @ Chef Mickey's

I'm a big Breakfast Buffet person  and I was thinking of dumping GG over Cape May Cafe. Anyone know of another good character breakfast?

My DGF doesn't care too much for "face characters" and didn't want to run into the same characters over and over. Do you guys think I made good choices or is 5 too many?

Everywhere I look online gives me different information on what characters are where. :confused3 If anyone has been to any of these lately could you please specify who you saw. :flower3:

Thank you for all your opininons. :thumbsup2

CP--Winnie the Pooh characters--usually, Piglet, Pooh, EEyore and Tigger
GG-Usually Mickey, Pluto Chip and Dale
'Ohana--Lilo and Stitch
Tusker House-Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald
Chef Mickey's-Mickey, Chip, Dale, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy (have seen Donald here also)

How about Princess Storybook in Norway so you can have some Princess time? Since a few overlap, 1900 Park Fair at GF is one of my fav's and though some Pooh characters are there they also have Alice/Mad Hatter/Mary Poppins. Personally I prefer character meals to get character time, and not using park time to hunt down characters. I also like breakfast on vacation since I rarely get more than a breakfast bar in the AM when I have to work! What is nice about a character breakfast in a park is that you can usuallly get an early seating before the park opens and then have finished eating by the time the park opens. This essentially gives you a great head start onthe day you have your character fix and then can head off to other attractions without being distracted by the charater greeting spots.
BTW the GG does not have a character breakfast (and I see you have lunch marked there). So if you want breakfast in that area you'll need to try Cape May (goofy, minnie, and it's been so long I don't recall who else) and then you could walk over to the international gateway to enter Epcot.

I'd try breakfast at 1900 Park Fare--it's excellent.
I'd also mix in a few dinner/character buffets--1900 Park comes to mind for that too.But your plan sounds good too--you can't go wrong at WDW

Thanks for the replies. ;)

My DGF does not want to miss Chip & Dale no matter what. I figured it was best to meet them in a character meal.

Even though I wouldn't mind going to 1900 park Fair or Akershus (Princess storybook dining) she's not a big fan of "face characters." She likes them but she likes the "more hugable characters" better. (As she puts it.)

I know Chip & Dale are at GG, but since I'm most likely changing that, I was wondering if anyone's seen them at Cape May Cafe?

Or would you think I have enough character meals with four? (GG being excluded.)

I think I've got "The fab five" covered with my "4" meals but if anyone knows otherwise, please let me know. I don't want to screw up and miss Chip & Dale. :rotfl:

I think you can see Minnie, Chip, & Dale at Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. This is a family style meal. Meaning they bring platters of food to your table and you serve yourselves.

I was told recently that Chip and Dale are no longer at Chef Mickeys. Maybe someone who has been there recently can confirm this for you also.

Someone posted a picture a day or two ago of Chip & Dale at Cape May Cafe character breakfast (also there are Minnie and Goofy).

This is what I'm thinking too. Thanks for posting. :)

Alright! I hope this is true. So I can change my ADR's at GG for CMC. :thumbsup2

Guess nobody thinks 4 character meals are enough.

You could change it, but we love, love, love the GG. My kids love it too!

I don't think 5 character meals are too many. You'll never have to wait in line to see characters somewhere else!

No, I don't think 5 character meals is too many--we did 7 on our last trip. Beats having to wait in line to meet the characters in the parks.

My only suggestion would be to switch a few of them to dinner, simply because it's a better value on the DDP. Chef Mickey's is $22.99 for breakfast compared with $29.99 for dinner. Actually, depending on where else you are eating, if you plan on doing mostly breakfasts for your TS credits you might be better off skipping the DDP all together and just paying out of pocket.

Also, another down side to the breakfasts is that right when the parks open is often the best time to hit the more popular rides, to avoid standing in a long line. Even if you made all your ADRs for 8:00 it's possible you might not be done in time for park opening.

I just wanted to chime in that GG is my kids' favorite. My son likes Chip and Dale and they are definitely there. My kids like the rotating restaurant and the build your own cupcakes. So, now we go there every trip.

Also, I don't think you have too many character meals. I agree with other posters that it is a great way to get character interaction without having to stand in lines at the parks. Plus, when my kids were younger, I could sit and relax and enjoy my meal and the kids were entertained (instead of being ansy and ready to go). So, it works out pretty well for me.

We are not big on breakfast and are doing our first character breakfasts for our next trip, so I might vary it up and do some dinners. I like to have a sit down dinner at the end of the day, or even a sit down lunch to take a break.

We are trying the DxDP our next trip, so we will have lots of character meals--more than 5.

Have a great trip.

All my TS are Character Meals! LOL!
This is the opportunity is the way I look at it. They are 5 & 8 year old girls. The 8 year old isn't so much into the princess thing as much as she used to but I think she will love it anyway. The 5 year old will be in heaven. And...they won't be 8 and 5 forever.
They really want to see Lilo & Stitch and that is only a breakfast, our CRT is late, late lunch (2:45 pm!)so it didn't make sense to have Crystal Palace for dinner

We have:
Chef Mickey-dinner
Crystal Palace-breakfast
CRT -Lunch
Ohana Lilo & Stitch-breakfast
Akershush Princess-lunch

I would have liked to have more dinners to get the best "value" of the DPP but the value of the kids seeing all those characters without waiting in line and with having some actual interaction is more priceless then the value of the actual meals.
In fact I need to pay for one of the breakfasts OOP because we only have 5 TS and of course Cindy is 2 TS!

When they are older we can try some more of the dinners but I say 5 isn't too many-in fact its not enough!

Liberty Tree Tavern (dinner) is an excellent character meal. The interaction there is fantastic. I think Chip and Dale are there. I know Goofy, Minnie and Pluto are.

Thank for the replies guys. :)

I guess asking if 5 is too much is like preaching to the choir. :rotfl:

As long as Chip & Dale are at Cape May Cafe my DGF will be happy. :thumbsup2

Just wanted to chime in to say that Donald has indeed replaced Chip and Dale at Chef Mickey's (subject to change of course ;) ) Also, Mickey and Pluto are usually with Lilo and Stitch at 'Ohana, and Minnie is not usually at Tusker House.
If you decide to change one over to dinner, I personally think the dinner food at CP is better than the dinner food at CM.

Thanks for your post, I've heard many times the dinner at CP is very good. I'll have to try it for sure, maybe next trip. :)

Would you or anyone else know if Minnie is at CM? And if Chip & Dale is at CMC? :flower3:

I'm trying to find the most accurate site to find out who is where, so far, all seem to be different. :confused3

I know that they're "subject to change" but I was hoping someone who has been lately (this year hopefully) can verify what characters are where, in all the character restaurants. :)

Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, Pluto & Donald were their 2/5/08 - hope this helps!
