Is 2 full days plus MNSSHP too much time in MK?

My kids will be 5 and 16months on our trip in Sept, so I planned two days at MK, not thinking about the fact that we'd also be at MK for MNSSHP. Is this too much time at one park? We've only got one full day at each of the other three parks. I figured MK would be the park we'd be able to do the most rides, because of the kids ages, but now I'm second-guessing my plans.

Others with small kids - what does your typical touring plan look like?

We always do 2 days at MK and its still not enough(when kids were 3 and 11 months and on.) Last trip we did 2 MK, 2 EP, 2 Dhd and 1 AK.
This trip is 2 MK, 1 MNSSHP, 1 DHS, 1 1/2 EP, and one of each universal/IOA. You cant gfo wrong with a lot of MK time for kids.
You can utilize the party day but will you be also doing party events or focusing on rides? I plan to do MNSSHP for my second MK day in Oct but I will do ropedrop that day, then take a break and return about 4-5 pm. I want the day in MK and then focus more on park that night (with in reason since we dont really do a lot of meet and greets or dance parties.)

We've got:
Day 1- MK
Day 2- EPCOT
Day 3- DHS
Day 4- MK again
Day 5- AK
Day 6- MNSSHP

We've never done the party before, so we'll probably mostly focus on party events (and maybe book FP+ for any rides my older one wants to do one last time). I also am not planning to go to a park on party day; the plan is to swim and hopefully tire the kids out enough that they'll take a good nap in the afternoon, otherwise we won't make it through much party.

I'm also figuring we'll split MK in half, and do Fantasyland/Tomorrowland the first day and Adventureland/Frontierland/Liberty Square the second day. That way we can take our time, make better use of our 3 FP+ each day, and not run around so much.

The first time we took our DD, 2 att, we did 2 days at MK, because we wanted to take it easy & not rush. The next time we went she was 5 & we went 1 day & 1 evening. Now we usually go during the MNSSHP time & we will go 1 day at MK & do the party & it's plenty. She's 11 now. And when I say 1 day, we go at rd & leave around 3 or 4. So, for us 2 days at MK & a party would be too much. But it's all in how you like to tour & what you & your family likes. I'm sure whatever you decide will be the right thing. For us, we also like to take one day during our stay & not go to the parks at all & spend the day at the pool, shopping, or just relaxing. If you have an extra day, that might be nice for you, especially with babies.

Have fun!

Sounds like a good plan, and a nice amount of time in MK that way.

Nope, not at all. I can easily spend 3 days in MK on any given trip if I have enough days to allocate, and I don't even have kids. :thumbsup2

I agree with the other posters that you can use that extra time at MK. To add to what's been said, don't view the party night as an MK day. The party offers so many different shows and experiences, different characters and parade and many other things you won't see on a regular park day. If you've done all of what you want to on the regular park days you will be free to enjoy the party offerings without feeling you must go and do something you didn't have time to do earlier. And of course you can repeat any favorites too while you are there if you so wish.

If I do a seven day trip then five days are devoted to magic kingdom. There is absolutely never enough time to be in the magic kingdom. Ever

I mean ever

I don't think it's too much but if you're really on the fence, have you considered making that second MK day an "open" day? That way if you're impressed by DHS or Epcot, you have the option to go there instead. I know people like to plan their ADRs according to the park they will be at, but we always leave 1-2 "open" days near the end of our trip with an ADR at a resort, so we can decide the night before which park we'd like to go back to.

(and maybe book FP+ for any rides my older one wants to do one last time). .

Can you book fastpass during party hours? Or do you mean before? I'm just curious as we'll be going to a party and I didn't know that was an option.

You can't book fastpass during the party. However most of the rides are usually walk on during the party.:)

We had planned for 2 days last trip and ended up with a 3rd by the end, so I think you'd be fine.

This year we've got 3 planned.

Not IMO.

MNSSHP has so much to see and do, it's not like you'll be doing "regular stuff" anyway on your first trip.

We did 3 MK days and 2 MNSSHP (one on the same MK day) and it was great.

FWIW that was under old FP rules and FP+ double dipping. So two and a MNSSHP is probably the bare minimum to do every single thing in MK.

We are all grown and always always always plan like this: MK 3 days Epcot 2 days Studios 1.5 days AK 2 days

I agree. Keep in mind that you can get into MK at 4:00 pm on your party ticket, so if there are a few things you want to do prior to the start of the party, you can head to MK a little earlier. The actual party activities won't start until 7:00, but you can get into MK and have part of a regular park day without having to use a ticket day.

Thanks everyone! Think I will keep my plans as is for now, since I already made ADRs. I wish I could get 2 EPCOT days in, since we'll be there during F&W Fest, but I guess we'll just have to go back again. ;)
