Is 1900 Park Fare ever returning?

I suspect not until after the GF main building refurb is done.

Doesn't seem to me there'd be much sense in trying to reopen it until all that is complete. GF traffic may be rather reduced while the refurb is underway. Consequently, I don't expect 1900 PF to reopen until possibly 2024.

I know we're hoping all that doesn't begin until after our May trip, even though we're staying in VGF.

I hope it returns. Even tho our second trip there, where we were seated in an odd area after it moved to another GF location wasn’t great, the first time we went, it was hysterical and great.

Oh that cold strawberry soup!

1900 Park Fare will not return as a buffet unless it is a 2 credit dining plan option. The Grand Floridian has changed its paradigm to keep guests from moderate and value resorts off of the property and cater to upper class income families. You can't even do a mobile order at Gasparilla Grill unless you are registered at the hotel. We just stayed at the Contemporary and wanted to stop there for lunch and on the monorail, we could not mobile order.

When our kids were little, we could only afford value resorts and always did one meal at 1900 on the dining plan. It is unfortunate that so many little girls will not get that experience like mine did.

This is not true. There could have been an issue either with MDE or potentially with Gasparilla Grill at the time but anyone can mobile order from there. There are times when MDE will limit mobile ordering to off site guests as it happened with CR for quite a while but it's not limited to "upper class families". We stayed at POFQ last week and were able to order from GG with no issue.

I would not be surprised if it returns as a two credit meal. Akershus lunch/dinner and Storybook dining will be two credit meals starting in January when the DDP returns.

must be MDE, the lady at the register said when we paid that MO is only for guests. I just checked my app now and they are taking it, they did not take it on Monday July 31 around 3pm but we ordered there and the place was empty. Cashier said that MO is for guests only, I guess it depends on the day.

This happens at Contemporary sometimes too, so it isn't just a GF issue, and it isn't to keep guests of lower end hotels out. It may have to do with how busy or how well staffed they are at the time because it does change. FWIW, I've heard reports that even if you get the message that it is for hotel guests only, you can still order.

I have seen this in MDE when the app will have a pop up and say something along the lines of "Contempo Cafe is not taking mobile orders at this time and MO is for resort guests only".

This is usually not because the restaurant is busy but rather an issue with people abusing parking at the monorail resorts. Same goes for when guests have an ADR at a Monorail resort, they are allowed to park for up to 3 hours at that resort but many guests leave their cars and head to MK. And as PP mentioned, likely staffing related,

I think MDE only allows mobile orders at the resorts when you are physically AT the resort. So limiting to guests only means "those actually here" as opposed to "those paying for a room here". I know even when we stayed at Poly, we couldn't make/change reservations for Ohana or do mobile order until we got near enough to the resort. I believe the idea is to keep people from placing a mobile order from anywhere, then driving there to park, and leaving their car. But if you're already there (by taking Disney/uber/etc transportation or having rights to park), then you can order.

You can actually mobile order from anywhere, however, from time to time, Disney IT has put limitations on mobile ordering at certain resorts due to a variety of issues (staffing/parking/etc). This has happened most notably at monorail resorts. I'm sure it happens on occasion at other restaurants but typically if you go to MO from a location that is currently not taking them, you'll get a pop up in MDX that will either say no ordering is allowed or MO is restricted to those on property/staying at the resort. I presume that in the pp case, IT was just not doing what they were supposed to. But if I want to order a meal in MK or Grand Floridian from a state away, nobody is stopping me. Disney will take your money anyway they can lol

I hope so. Very fond memories of years dining there, often for dinner on our GF arrival day, or breakfast on our departure day.

Wow, that is clever. That Ferry Boat ride after park closing is a long wait. I could see people mobile ordering a coffee and then using that to park. Looks like it was done enough times to make them do something about it.
