Is 1900 Park Fare Breakfast worth paying OOP?

After going crazy for months trying to schedule our vacation around ADRs I talked my DH into downgrading from the deluxe to the regular dining plan and paying for a few meals out of pocket.

Anyway, we were able to get all of our most important meals with the plan, and then pay for two others I have scheduled. But, it left our breakfast ADR at 1900 Park Fare out.

So, is it worth it in your opinion? We have 2 adults and 2 kids so, to me it will be a bit pricey for breakfast. I feel like we will miss out on seeing the GF and I was wanting my oldest to meet Alice (however I know it isn't guaranteed she will be there) and I also dropped CP so, I would like my youngest to meet Pooh and Tigger. Plus I keep hearing about the strawberry soup and DESSERT at breakfast?!

This is our 1st Disney trip as a family (kids 1st) and my girls are 2,5 and 9.
I should suck it up and pay right? :confused3

Many posters would pay for breakfast at 1900 PF. I would suggest you consider it.

My kids loved it! But we are big Alice, Mad Hatter, and Mary Poppins fans! The food was good. I have to figure out a way to get it in this year too. :)

last time we went, in Sept, we didnt get our usual deluxe dining.. which we get b/c we love the character breakfasts, a nice sit down dinner, and would actually prefer a QS for some lunches but end up doing TS for a better value. Anyway, last trip i did the same thing as you and planned to pay OOP for two character breakfasts.. CP and GF. We did the GF first, and upon seeing the bill I just couldnt pay OOP for it so we used a TS. I knew ahead of time what the cost would be but once we were there it was different in my mind. We had eaten enough to be full/stuffed but i just couldnt see paying all that money for it. We have done GF tons of times and used the dining plan, that makes it seem like a great value. So after seeing the bill for GF and knowing that CP would be the same thing, we decided to not go to our CP breakfast :(.. which is a favorite of mine. We also then had to skip a TS to make up for the GF breakfast, which was the 1900 dinner buffet.. which we never been to.

Did you do the math to see how much you will save by going regular plan.. probably so, but if this is your first visit i'd recommend doing as many character breakfasts as you can.. so i recommend just going back to the deluxe if you can get ADRs.

Hope that helped, good luck! Oh, and the strawberry soup was ok, i'm not a fan.. but 1900 does have the best lobster eggs benedict.. i could eat the whole tray myself. CP has yummy puffed french toast. Donald's breakfast in AK has deliciious cheese blintzes with apple and strawberry toppings... oh and lots of donuts. If you go deluxe, try to do them all. :)

Well, I just dropped it yesterday and there is no turning back! lol I am done. When I have the choice of a QS meal or a nice sit down meal for the same price with the deluxe plan obviously I would choose the table service meal because getting a QS wouldn't be getting the best value. So, in my mind I have to have ADRs for most meals. Then we are spending way too much time sitting in restaurants. My kids are far to young to sit so much and my DH way to intolerant to do a character breakfast every day. LOL

Anyway, after dropping the deluxe plan we were able to add two nights to our stay for a minimal cost. If we went back we wouldn't be able to have the plan from arrival because it would cost a fortune for two more days on the deluxe plan plus the cost of the room. So, we would be over budget.

ANYWAY, With the three meals OOP it would be around $215 and we will not feel the pressure to get our money's worth, KWIM? This is our first family trip to Disney and the kids first trip so, I want to maximize our time not make them eat AGAIN. :goodvibes

We too are paying OOP for our trip in May. Our kids are 9, 6 & 3. We booked breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. We looked up some videos on YouTube -and after the kids saw the Mad Hatter, they begged to eat there. :) He looks hilarious! This is our first Disney trip as well, and although I have a bit of sticker shock after looking at the prices of some of our meals, it will be worth it. When else do the kids get to dine with all these characters? :)

We are paying OOP @ 1900 breakfast as well. We're going on our last morning to grab one last bit of the magic before we have to leave. :( I was a little nervous about the $$ as well because there are four of us, all "adults." The bill will total almost $100 when all is said and done. I hope it's worth it! Mary Poppins, Alice, and Tigger are favorites of our whole family, so it's nice that they're all in the same place! :)

1900 PK was one of our most favourite breakfasts... Food was delicious and my dd10 loves Mad Hatter who is hilarous!! Also saw Pooh, Mary Poppins, and Alice... We always pay out of pocket so we timed this one around 11:30 and made it brunch so it felt like we got our moneys worth....

Ditto! This is not our 1st trip, but will be our 1st time having breakfast at the GF. We are paying OOP for all of our meals...no dining plan. I just figure- its Disney...food is going to be expensive. We're on vacay so not going to worry about $$ the whole time.
Just wanted to add...we've looked at all the menus for places we have ADR's and have an idea of what we will be paying per day. We've put enough aside for meals to cover the most expensive end of the guessing..so if we spend less it will be a nice treat to have a little $$ left over.

We are going through the same dilemma too! I have one leftover reso with no credit so I am trying to decide between Sci Fi, CP Breakfast, 1900 Park Fare Breakfast for out of pocket. I think its going to be Sci Fi and just get something cheap there with no dessert.
