Is $145 the lowest that VGF will go?

I know there is no way of really knowing but for those of you that have been around for other resort openings, did things get cheaper in the beginning when you added in incentives? We bought BLT for $108/pt with incentives and it seemed to skyrocket right after we bought. I tried to find how much BLT sold for when it was first available but couldn't find any exact data, does anyone know?

The guides are being guides but mine is telling me that this is it. He says you won't see it any lower and it will probably raise fairly quickly. I happen to believe him.

This is the crown jewel of WDW (in the opinion of many) and a very small DVC in the scheme of things. Everything has a ceiling when it comes to price, of course, but I think the floor's at about the lowest point you will ever see it. If anything, I think DVD will raise prices pretty quickly once they have some seed money from early sales.

They ain't gonna have to give this one away. This one WILL sell itself.

Just MHO. That and $6 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. ;)

Now that all of the classic resorts are priced at $130 (BCV, BWV, OKW, SSR, and VWL), I just do not see DVC lowering the price closer to these older resorts.

BLT opened at $107, we bought 9 months later at $104 with the 7 day cruise incentive.

Disney's goal is to sell as many contracts as they can before the resort opens and people enter the property. Some may not like the size, location, room layout or view. That can hurt sales.

Opening price for BLT was $112 less any incentives.

True but from day one everyone got a $5 incentive so the real price was $107. Don't you love the way Disney plays with the numbers.

Any idea why they contracted price is always the full price instead of the price actually paid. Is it a tax or inflated sales number thing?

After initial sales but before BLT opened we were able to purchase it for $92 a point after incentives. We were buying our first and only contract for DVC at the time so we bought in as nonmembers. I do not remember what the exact incentives were just that the final price was that.

I been tracking the DVC prices for about 3 years and have been a member for around 1 1/2 . I bought SSR when I first priced it it was $100 pp I bought about 1year later at $120 when I bought AKV was $130 pp now a little over a year later AKV is $150 pp and SSR is $130 . I been seeing constant and fast increase in the price pp . Because of this I doubt it will ever be lower and I am very happy I financed my DVC purchase .

I asked my guide the same question today- the $145.00 pp cost is a pre-construction price just for existing members- once it goes for sale to the public in June it's going to be $160.00 pp

DVC said when Aulani opened that they have had complaints about prices being better on cruises and opening at one price and three weeks later have a lower price. So they stated right up front on Aulani that the opening price was the cheapest price ever. And so far it's been that way even on cruises.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same for VGF.

First time I saw Alauni was on a cruise it was $135 pp not sure what it is now but i am sure it's higher

The member website says $150 pp Your guide told you $160?

I for one, would be extremely surprised if the price is ever any lower. I am a bit shocked it opened at as low a price as it has. I've been a member 20 years, a Disney veteran, & have numerous friends in sales at DVC. The price increases have been far more frequent the last 2-4 years than ever in DVC history. The demand & interest for GFV has been high for a long time. Viewing of the model opened today for members & they are stunning. With the location, demand, very low number of villas, prestige of GF, etc., etc., I see a pretty quick sellout. Just my 2 cents....

I hate to say it but I agree with you 100% on every point you made.

don't think the demand for a GFV has ever been high.

now the Polyn - definitely - but GF - not so much.
yes it will sell out quickly - but really think most of the sales will be new members - not us older ones.

I expect the price per point for this property to rise pretty quickly. It started out way lower that anticpated. With AKV starting to get close to sell out, this will be the only resort at WDW with advertised inventory. What with it being the Grand Floridian, flagship resort, plus close to the Magic Kingdom, demand will be high at whatever the price. Now, if they start on the rumored Poly DVC, then things change; demand for the GFV may slack if potential and existing members decide to wait for that one.

You can take this with a grain of salt, but my rep predicted the points would be hitting $200 by the end of the year.

Well I read a post that said the 7month period for reserving with other DVC points was being lowered to 4 months for vgf
Anyone else hear that. It would kill any decision to buy small contracts and try to use other non VGF points regardless of price. Personally I would wait till resale and buy a lot lower.
