Hi,
I have booked a 12 night stay over spring break in April. We are about to book our airline tix and DH is questioning that 12 nights is too long to go to WDW. We did a trip in July and stayed 6 nights and that barely seemed like enough to us. We have a 3 year old with us and had not planned to rent a car. What do you think is 12 nights overdoing it a bit?

The longer the better! Our longest stay was 13 nights and we still didn't do everything on that trip. Our kids were 4 and 5 at the time and we didn't have a car either. You will have a great time.

How often do you go? If you don't go a lot and really love WDW I don't think it's too much.:D

GOODNESS NO! Seriously, we went for 11 nights in April and it was great. It is so nice to have the extra time and not feel rushed or pressured to do it all right away. And we had a 3 year old with us in April (she is now 4) and that left us plenty of time for naps and down time by the hotel pool. Enjoy your vacation!

NO WAY!!
We went for 15 nights in October w/ our 2,6, and 8 year olds and still didnt get to do everything we wanted to. We also didnt come home exhausted- we were well rested, relaxed and had a GREAT time.
Definately 12 days is fine!

Hi there...

I think 12 days is terrific for doing half day trips.

We would either spend the morning at the resort and head out in the afternoon to a park/dinner/show OR we would head out to the parks inthe morning and come back areoun 2pm and enjoy the rest of the day at the pool etc...

It is exhausting to be on the go all the time and some times you return home needing a holiday!

Enjoy the 12 days if you can do it.... put some relaxation in your holiday!

>>^..^<<

Speaking strictly as someone who has done 16 days, 14 days, 10 days and 3 days, and is planning to do 15 days next July...

No.

It's not too much.

You will be AMAZED at all there is to do down there. Some of which -- pardon the heresy -- has nothing to do with Disney! The shopping at the Premiere Outlets is outstanding; Universal and Islands of Adventure are a great contrast with Disney; and if all else fails, just hang by the pool.

You won't regret it all that time. Trust me.

All my trips have been for 14 nights :) with the exception of 2000 when we stayed for 21 glorious nights.

I agree, especially during a Holiday period. Down time is important. We will be there 11 nights over Spring Break this year and I can't wait for the relaxation. We were just there for 9 nights with relatives and trying to get everything in with everyone was exhausting. The longer the better.

GOD NO!!!!

We try to go for 14 days now and take every other day to relax and spend time enjoying the resort. Or even resort hop to check out where we would like to stay in the future.

I am hard pressed to think of what would be considered a stay that is too long! The longer time allows you to be more relaxed about your time there. Enjoy the luxury of your lengthy trip.

No way!! Our last two trips were for 14 day's and this year we are off for 18 day's and I am still worried we won't have enough time to see and do it all :D

BWAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAH!

If you do get an itch to go offsite, you can always rent a car for a few days. There are a couple of rental agencies on property and in DD at one of the hotels. Can someone please let hookedup know which ones they are, I have to wipe the tears from my eyes. ;)

The most I've done was 9 days, but would LOVE to do 12 days. There is just so much to do, you might think 12 days isn't long enough! ;)

Our last "big" trip was 12 days and we tried to add a couple more days because we just hated to leave. We stayed on an AP rate and could not get any discounts for the added days so the cost was ridiculous for us. So our next trip is for 19 glorious days. I am in agreement with all the other posters, could not be at WDW too long. Having the time to leisurely see the parks, spend afternoons at your resort/pool,nap if you feel like it is to me the biggest luxury of all. The only downside is the major depression we experience getting back to "real"life.

We spent 10 nites at the Swan this year. We are going for 14 (I think) in July 2004. We purchased the 10 day Worldpass which was perfect for us as it also provided Disney Quest for the kids.

On the 14 day trip I may do an AP if I can't get the WP. DS probably won't go on that trip so it will be DD & myself (DH doesn't do Disney or much travel).

Even after around 8 days in the parks, there were still things I wanted to do. We never even got to AK - never got to visit and look at GF & Poly & Contemporary (which I intended to do).

So I don't think its too long!

We make an annual sojourn and stay 5+ weeks each summer! Actually, we stay longer (6-7+ weeks in Orlando/Vero)...but the 5+ weeks is on Disney Property. Always a deluxe. This summer...CR 1 BR suite, and Dolphin Exec. suite CL (plus a Disney Cruise again, a week @ disney's Vero Beach Resort, Portofino for 4 eves, and the Peabody resort). We sleep in each day (ahhh), and venture out after lunch! Never seems like enough time for us either...I always am sad when we leave, and begin planning the next summer trip the minute I arrive home! 12 nights will FLY past! You'll have a great time...make the airline ressies and RELAX. ;)

RENTAL CARS...National at the Dolphin/Magic kingdom car care center. Budget in DTD hotel.

*jgates...YEA! TWO WEEKS 7/2004...I'd go for the AP too. We have PAP's, (includes Dquest & water parks) and they work out fine (a real bargain over any LOS). We visit FAO, Sea World, Celebration, Fantasia Golf, Movie day at the Marketplace, etc.! So much to do, never enough time. ;)
