Can't decide if we should do 8 or 10 nights. For end of September. It's the first time with DD who will be 2 1/2 to go with us. Just wondering if we will need extra time not to rush so much since the price differance is only $200.00 more for 10 nights vs. 8.

If your little one does well being out of his element (sleeping somewhere else, eating at off times, etc) I'd definitely go for the 10 nights! It'll give you plenty of down time and you won't have to rush! We were there for 2 full weeks in Dec with our almost 5 year old and 2 year old and we had a great time. We had 10 day park hoppers plus did the x-mas party another night and then had some down days (did Kennedy one of those). We often would either go to the parks at opening and stay until maybe 3 and then head home or, some days we'd do other stuff in the morning and then head into the parks late afternoon and do evening entertainment. The park hours were pretty short in Dec and taking mid-day breaks every day was hard because of that so that's why we did 3/4 days a lot of time! We hit the pool a few days which was a blast, toured some of the other resorts, had plenty of time for DT disney, etc. I honestly think we could have stayed longer and it wouldn't have been too long. This was our 2nd trip to WDW but we go frequently to DL. I think my only thing with staying longer is that we had a condo for 1 of our weeks and not eating out all the time was kind of nice (both on the budget, our diets, and our sanity)!

We just booked on Monday for 10 nights in September. We've never stayed more than 8 before. But, with the free dining and value resort rates, we decided we could take more time at the pool, water parks, and relaxing at the resort if we paid a little more and added on the extra 2 nights. I don't think it will be too long. I say go for it! :thumbsup2

Our DD will be 2 in a couple of weeks and 7 nights away is our max. Granted, we have never tried more than 7 but I can tell by day 6 she's antsy for her routine and normal environment. FYI, we travel alot and even though DD is a very easy traveler, her schedule is off, her eating is not the same and frankly, by the time the trip is coming to an end, I am ready for her to get back on track. Regardless, I think 10 nights away is a long time, but particularly so if you don't travel often.....it's an adjustment for the little ones...

10 nights isn't too long for us! :) Our longest trip so far was 12 nights, and at the time our older three boys were 5, 3, and 11 months. We even got sick on that trip with a stomach bug halfway through (we each had it for 24 hours, one after the other). And we could have stayed longer.

Last summer we did a 10 night trip and our boys were 8, 6, 4 & 2. Again, we could have stayed longer!

It is great being able to really settle in for a good, long time and know you have plenty of time to do everything you want to do. I wish all our trips could be 10+ days.

We just returned from 7 days and I couldn't have handled more. My 3 year old DEFINITELY wanted to be back home.

I'd vote for the 10! when we (DH, DS-now 21, DD-now 19, and ME) were able to get away for that amount of time when the kids were younger, it gave us the chance to really relax and appreciate all the resort had to offer along with the parks. We've since had to cut it to 7 nights due to work, college, and other commitments, but I believe the reason we think of WDW as our "home away from home" are those years we could do 10. June 19th--here we come again:rotfl:

I vote for the 10 days and it still wasn't enough for us. As long as you plan 'down-time' to relax at the pool, Downtown Disney, the Boardwalk, etc. it makes the trip more enjoyable.

On our last trip in 2007 we did 10 nights...we only did 6 days at parks.

You can relax and take your time...even get some pool time in...you can spend multiple days at any given park...and you might find that one day is enough for certain parks (for example...one trip to HS is enough for a lifetime for my family...but...the Playhouse Disney Stuff would be fun for the 2½ yo.)

Go for the 10 days.

Even 10 days doesn't feel like enough!!! We stayed 9 nights in 2006 and on our next trip we are staying 11 nights. We went camando style in 2006, and this trip in Sept we are taking 2 break days, to relax and play by the pool. Have fun no matter what you do!!

Our last trip was 8 nights and my daughters cried when it was time to leave! LOL With a 2 1/2 year old, I almost think 10 nights would be ideal. It takes little ones a few days to settle in to the new environment and schedule. If you're there for a short period of time, it's a little more chaotic. So IMO, 10 nights is definitely the way to go! :-)

Have fun!!

Whenever we start planning a trip it's for 10 days. The cost per day goes way down and you're going also going at a great time.

We took my daughter when she was almost one and she did just fine.

Go for it. 10 days is great.

We try for about 10 nights each trip. I don't actually relax until about 4 or 5 days into each trip, so that way we get another week to feel good and have fun. Plus flying Wed. to Sat. or Sat. to Tues. is usually a good deal on Southwest. We are only going for 7 nights in Sept, though, because it's just a bonus free-dining trip for us. Trying to do it as cheaply as possible, driving down, no extra parties, etc.

We went for 7 nights last year with our 3 year old & it was definately not enough time.

Well it looks like we are on for 8 this time. DH found out he doesnt have as much vacation time as he thought or else it would have been 10. :cool2:
