So apparently the IRS Wheres My Refund tool opened today, but I cannot get it to work. I keep getting an error message.

Has anyone else had any luck?

It could be because the IRS just started accepting tax returns today (1/30). I'd try again later.

I thought I read that they aren't going to tell people when to expect their refund this year because the estimates were so messed up last year?

Several years ago we received and IRS letter stating they owed us $9000. We waited for a couple of months and no response to phone calls. We went to see our congressman and it took 6 months from that contact to get our money back.
The IRS does not not to let go of money. :)

OH, not to law abiding citizens, but they were more than willing to dish out a fake $7000 refund, in my name, to someone stealing my identity.

The IRS is a mess.

Thankyou to those who replied with kind responses.
The tool seems to be working now.It was probably on overload this morning :confused3

It worked for me a few minutes ago. Ours was accepted on Saturday, I guess they just needed time to load this morning.

I checked our state and it was processed on Monday and sent to the Comptrollers office to be paid. The other state we file isn't showing anything yet, but it wasn't accepted until Monday.

My fed says accepted per tt and Where's my refund tool. State and school filed thru state website say processed all were accepted around 28th.

I don't even have all my tax forms yet!! :faint: You people are fast!!!

I used the "Where's My Refund" this morning and the IRS said my return had been accepted and to expect my deposit by Feb 1st:cool1:

FYI: I used TaxAct and filed about one week ago on-line. Just for fun I logged onto Tax Act on Monday to check the status and read that the IRS had opted to accept some tax returns into their system, but that they weren't "processing them until the 30th". My return was one that was selected for this early acceptance.

I'm hoping that I do get my refund as stated. I just began school and need to buy uniforms and books

The girl I work with just came over and showed me the very long list of items that will cause your tax return to be delayed this year, which was sent to her by the accountant that does her taxes. From what was listed on there, if you itemize and claim the morgage intrest credit, those are delayed from even being processed until the middle of Feb, let alone when the return will be gotten. Of the credits listed that will cause a delay, between her and her boy friend, they claim 8 of them.

I used TaxAct, too and got a text over the weekend that our Fed and AL were pulled and filed on 1/26/13. WMR is acting up again, I guess alot of people are trying to use it.

We don't usually have all of our documents this early, but I was able to get copies electronically and get them filed. We don't have children and have a pretty simple return, so we should have no problem getting our refund.

That's funny because I never got a text or an email and I kept checking, which is why I went back onto TaxAct.

We got our first state refund this morning. The other one now says it's pending as is our Federal.

Our state refund is being transmitted on Monday 2/4. However, our federal will probably be held up since there is now a hold for those filing form 8863 for education tax credits :rolleyes2 Suposedly if you have not yet filed, and are claiming this credit, you won't even be able to file until mid-Feb sometime.

However, since we filed so early, and the IRS accepted our return during its "testing period", I am assuming ours is now in a holding que because of the ed. tax credit deal. :confused3

Our Federal was approved this morning and is on it's way to the back, says we willget or deposit by Tuesday 2/4. Our GA is still in process.
