Irritated already!

I didn't realize folks that got free dining didn't really get it for free!

Are you people nuts?????? I am paying good money to go there! I love Disney, but yes, it irritates me that to bump sales they give free dining making the slow times crowded! If I started picking Fastpasses three days after it opened up then shame on me, but 7:30am. That's ridiculous!
Rope drop and run like heck shouldn't be more then 45 minute wait, it sucks but we managed

Does anyone else recognize the lunacy of having to take time off from a paying job to schedule vacation time?
Meh. People take time off from work to do all kinds of things I wouldn't do.

Taking off from work to book your fastpasses is never necessary, it's just a matter of what your priorities are. Personally, I wouldn't do it, but I don't feel like my vacation will be ruined if I don't get a specific fastpass or get to eat in a certain restaurant. To me, it seems incredibly silly to feel that way, but I suppose others disagree.

It's no more insane than having to get up at 7am while on vacation just to make an 8am rope drop.

At least for those of us who are night owls.

I am sooooooo not a morning person, staying up until midnight to make fast passes is no biggie but getting up early for rope drop is very ugh but I still do it and actually enjoy it.

I have been at my job long enough that I get 28 paid days a year. But as I work retail I only have 9 months a year I can use those days. So blowing one so I can get some sleep is no biggie.

same here.

This fall my kid started first grade and I have to be up at 7 AM to get him to the bus stop. Oh man is this a major adjustment for me.

OP - Don't give up. I couldn't get 7DMT FP+ at 8am on my 60 day point but I got it last night for the date/time I wanted and my trip is in mid-October.

As others has pointed out the OP still has a feeling of entitlement even though she is now saying that the FP+ system is her real issue. And others have pointed out the system is only flawed if you don't like the time the FP opens up. That's the way the system is and we have to deal with it as it is. Disney isn't going to change no matter how many calls they get; look at what happened when The Adventurers Club closed down. How many 1,000's of complaint went in and nothing happened. You can complain to them; or here and get sympathy or put down. But basically you have to work with the system as is.

Entitlement? Is this the same crowd that often says that certain resort levels should get more FP+? I don't see this as any different.

I am very willing to put money on there being more than 10 FP+/hour for A&E.

I think the PP meant 10 A/E Fps per time period. (9 am to 10 am would have 10, 9:05 to 10:05 would have 10, etc.) That means that anyone looking for more than 10 at once would never get it unless they knew to split the group into overlapping times.

I think the PP meant 10 A/E Fps per 5 time period. (9 am to 10 am would have 10, 9:05 to 10:05 would have 10, etc.) That means that anyone looking for more than 10 at once would never get it unless they knew to split the group into overlapping times.

That I can believe.

That's not addressing what we're talking about. There are 2 different experiences you can have at FTH. They're not going to expose what's going on behind the curtain and put in print that there is often more than one set of the same princesses meeting on each side.

Did you know there was more than one princess room in Toontown when they used to meet there?

Ahhh, OK. Yes, that I would believe

I'm going in October, no free dining available at all the time we are going and I couldn't get 7DMT or Anna and Elsa. AND I'm paying for my food too. It happens.

People do get dining for free. We were just there and I paid $99 for a room at All Star Sports and ate free. My next door neighbors paid the same $99 for their room, but had to pay to eat. They paid for food and we didn't. So we got our food for free.

If crowds were a 2 people would still have a difficult time getting A & E and 7DMT FastPass+ times! It is unlikely that you would get them at any time. Don't blame discounts. It isn't the end of the world if you don't have one. Hit it at rope drop. You will get to ride it or do the meet and greet. And if you don't? There is a whole world of fun out there and other attractions that are even better.

OP I understand that you're probably just venting, but you know those are the hardest to get. I plan to stay up late to try and get my own A&E but I also realize it may not happen. I don't think I am entitled to one because I planned, or stayed up late, or am spending thousands on this vacation. It will be a nice bonus if we can score one, but if not we will get our butts there at RD, or go right before park closes, or we will wait in line. It's ok to do those things if it means that much to you.
