I am planning to make t-shirts for our trip in November and I just have a few questions before I get started. I am going to order the transfers from Amy (I hear they are the best!) and I noticed that it said you don't have to flip the image....what about the wording? I can't seem to figure out how to flip the wording on the designs that I already have. It would be great if I don't have to worry about flipping anything...just curious how this works! Any help/advice would be appreciated!

I just got Amy's transfers a little over a week ago, and they really are great.

With those transfers, you print just like you would with regular paper and just one sheet at a time. Then you cut out your design, peel off the backing paper (be sure to peel part of the backing paper away from the design, then put it back before you cut--Amy has good directions about that) lay your tranfer on your shirt, cover with parchment paper (included with Amy's), iron and that's all there is to it. SUPER simple and a lot of fun.

Hope that didn't confuse you more!:lmao: Have fun!!:woohoo:

so even with the wording it comes out right? Thanks so much for the info! I have been trying to flip the image in word and it just doesn't work! So I feel much better now!

Where do you order this transfer paper from? I would love to make some shirts for my kiddos. Thanks!!!!

Yep, wording comes out fine too. Super easy, try not to get sucked in...I've made over 50 shirts! It can be addicting!

Thank you! Now what type of shirt do you recommend? I saw some for $3 each at a craft store.. can those be used?

Yes! The words come out just fine because you iron the transfer face-up. I used shirts from Wal-mart for about 4 bucks. And yes, it is addicting! Get the transfers from amymickey.com
The colors are bright and the transfer is not stiff or shiny. I've gotten lots of compliments on my boys shirts in just the few days they've worn them.:yay:

with these transfers would you recommend cutting around the outline of the design? Will there be a clear or white film left around the design if I don't cut them out? Also are doe these ones come out soft like the shirt stiff?

If I do this design (by Kellybell :) ) will the open spaces around the letters and characters be transparent or white?

Thanks!!:goodvibes

I have made about 100 of Amy's transfers. They are awesome!!! They are very easy to use. With this design, I would recommend adding a border around it if you can. If you can't do that, just cut around with curvy edges or pinking shears. All open space will be white, but it looks cute.

I wanted to add that I buy my shirts from jiffyshirts.com. The shipping is free if you spend $75 and they have a great selection of colors. I buy the Gilden 2000 or 50/50 blend. They are really reasonable on price. If you have any questions, pm me.

I've read all your comments about making t-shirts. I'm a little affraid of tring this, as simple as it sounds. I just paid $150 for 15 t-shirts to be made for me and they came out crappy! I was SO disappointed. That is where my fear comes in, if they couldn't do it, I don't have a clue where to buy or print.

Let me see if i have it...
What transfer paper do I buy to print out the designs on? Brand name?
What does it mean when you guys say, "Amy Transfers"??
I will go on amymickey.com when I am done here to see what that is. But will I order something from here site to help me or is that were my sons name design will be?

I got the cutting and laying on the t-shirt; it is all the stuff prior to that that I am stuck on.

OH and can you direct me to someone who designs military stuff? My son is in the Navy and Paula's used to do it and my deisigns that she did for me are stuck and not retrievable. He is coming home Oct 2 for the first time since April - YEAH!! But I wanted us all in shirts for him at the airport! How fun! But I need help. Can anyone help me???

From the bottom of my heart - thank you!
