Who else is watching? Does Alton Brown look sick? I guess he has lost some weight but his face looks sunken in a bit.:confused3

The White House garden looked fantastic! More than anything I was impressed about the lack of people around the reflecting pool and the traffic going down the road:laughing:

:banana:Thanks for posting this, I had forgotten it was on tonight! I am now recording on my DVR for my future watching pleasure!!!

I will have to get back to you about Alton as DH is hogging the remote to watch some stupid spoof movie. TG I have Disboards!:worship:

Who is in the battle (which chef's) our listings show it by chef vs chef not by title of battle. I'd love to watch it!

I switched over to watch this as soon as you posted and I STILL don't see Alton! LOL I hear him talking, but they haven't shown him. :confused3

Ok there he is! Yes, he does look very thin.

It seems as though we don't get that one here up in Alberta lol...darn. Although I noticed last year at some of the episodes he looked very thin and sickly....

I just said that to my mom! I don't buy the "health kick" story, he looks thin and drawn and his hair looks funny, wispy almost. I hope he isn't ill, the "Crazy Cooking Man" (as he is known in our house :rotfl: ) is one of our favorites!

Loved the battle though I could have predicted the WH Chef team would win, kind of embarrassing if she didn't. Loved Mario and Emeril together!

I saw the commercial for this last week and was sooo excited! I was looking forward to watching. Then, I saw the rest of the commercial and who their "special" guest was. No thanks.

I'm so pissed about this episode. I specifically watched it thinking that it would be a great battle and I think IT WAS FIXED! Seriously, the 3 female judges wet their pants over Lagasse's and Batali's dishes! I thought L/B were a shoo-in to win and their dishes looked so good and were EXTREMELY creative!!! And then the White House chef wins??? She was with Bobby Flay for crap's sake!!!! They no way, no how won fairly. I'm so upset over this!!

Does anyone else feel like I do??

Am I the only one who thinks it's tacky to have a reality TV cooking show at the White House?:sad2:

Nope. You are most definitely NOT alone. :sad2: I could go on - and on - but would prefer to not get points.

It wasn't at the White House.

I completely agree. I bet they just didn't want to make Comerford "look bad" by losing. I definitely think Lagasse and Batali showed lots of originality and good ideas.

Oh, and OP - I thought the SAME thing about Alton. I love him, but he definitely looks .... not so good.

I fell asleep before it came on, so I didn't see last night's episode, but earlier battles I noticed a big splotch on his left cheek, like a worrisome mole of some sort. Was it there last night? I'm wondering if he's receiving treatment like chemo?

It wasn't at the White House. There was a very brief segment on the lawn of the White House with Michelle Obama and another extremely brief segment in the new White House vegetable garden. They used some of the produce in the garden during the challenge and the the connection was to promote healthy, local eating...one of Mrs. Obama's causes. It was on par with when the two different Mrs. Bush's had childrens programs film at the White House to promote their cause of literacy.

Well at least I know who won now. Cablevision and Scripps stopped airing Food Network and HGTV over a negotation dispute. I'm going through serious withdrawal.

If he had/has a big splotch, it *could* possibly be Karposi's sarcoma or a melanoma. And I'm another one who doesn't quite buy the voluntary weight-loss story.

agnes!
