IrishEyes's Planning Journal - 9-6-07 - I'm MARRIED! Teaser pics pg 6!

OMG!

I went into David's Bridal today to buy my sisters bridesmaid dress. (Lets ignore, for the time being, that my sister is 5'9" and a size 1... and yes of course she is gorgeous... lucky little brat...;) )

I decided that, on a whim, since I had lost 12 lbs, I would go ahead and try on the next size down in my wedding gown. I almost didn't b/c I didnt want to get discouraged if the smaller size didn't zip even after a 12lbs loss. But... I sucked it up and decided I might as well give it a go.

IT FIT!

I'm SO happy right now, I could scream. I actually did scream at the bridal shop. The bride next to me gave me the dirtiest look but I didn't care, lol. I was jumping around and just so freaking happy.

My bridal assistant said that I have a little "back flab" at the back (I couldn't see it and neither could my sister). I could tell she really wanted me to think about it before ordering the new size. But I know I've commited for the past month and a half ... and look where I am. Why would I backpedal now? I want to lose another 15 - 20!!

I just had to share. I was feeling really down... like my loss wasn't even noticeable.. but I am just so happy right now :) :cheer2:

Yay! Congrats

You sound so happy, I am so happy for you!!! Has anyone suggested to you how to get rid of the 'back flab'? I have a slight problem with that myself, It's not major or anything but because of the dress, it's more obvious. I just wondered if oyu had any tips or exercises to do? You are motivating me to get my *** into gear. I have lost quite alot already, but like you, I still want to lose more. You are going to look absolutely stunning on your wedding day, what am I saying?, you already do:hug:

well done on your weight loss, not that you look as if you need to lose any from your photos! but it must have been fantastic getting into that smaller size, and a great incentive to keep up the good work.

just a question, why are you going back to wilderness lodge from GF for the wishes cruise? this is something I am hoping to do too and I was under the impression you could choose your pick up, GF, Poly or WL?

First of all, I have to say THANK YOU! You are too sweet for words :) *HUGS* I'm so excited that your wedding is so close to mine (you may actually still be in the area at the time of my wedding, right?)

And, as far as advice goes... unfortunately, there is no real way to target any flab. Which is SO frustrating. So what I was told / researched is that you just have to do LOTS of cardio. Get that heart pumping b/c then your body will attack the flab. But there isn't a way to specify where it should attack. Doing some sculpting exercises is good too, but if you dont do enough cardio, then you will just build muscle under the flab (this is what I have on my tummy now).

So I do 1 cardio workout DVD 3x a week. Then I do a sculpting dvd 3x a week. The days I do the sculpting dvd... I'm going to add a new cardio routine.. just to burn some calories. Then, about 3 weeks or so before the wedding, I'll scale back just to try to 'maintain'.

I hope that helps :) I can recommend some AWESOME programs, but I know you're overseas so I don't know if they are available... or if you'd get them in time. But the DVD programs I have are all from the same company and each one delivers everything it promises (I even have progress pics to prove it).

Also, are you wearing a veil? Cos if so... you wont even see your back ;)

Thank you :) I really am just so excited. I literally was jumping up and down... in a wedding gown... in the bridal shop ;)

The reason we are going back to Wilderness Lodge is b/c we are staying there... so we want to disembark there after the cruise.

You can also opt to be picked up from the Grand Floridian marina as well though :)

HTH!!

I am arriving in Orlando Aug 16th and staying until Sept 6th, will you be there then? I would love to meet up if you're there at any point:goodvibes

Yes, I am wearing a veil, so you are right you may not see anything. Do you know of any facial exercises :rotfl: In some pics I think my face looks overweight, you know under the chin area, so I was hoping to kinda target there too, esp as the photos will show all that kind of stuff up:rotfl2:

It would be great if you could recommend some DVD's, I'm pretty sure I could get them here. If not there is always the trust Amazon.com to get them from;)

Gonna go off to do some Cardio now...

I just read you PJ. I love your dress! I may be a little biased as it's the same one my sis wore for her wedding almost a year ago. When she tried hers on there were little girls there who just stared and whispered about how she looked like a princess. It was the second dress she tried on, and then I think she tried on like ten more, and my mom and I kept telling her it was that one that made her look like a princess. When we did pics at GF there were a lot of little (and big) girls that just ooh'd and ahh'd over how pretty she was--now I know why Disney doesn't want you beautiful brides in the parks to be confused with their princesses ;) I think she wore the same veil too :)
The flower petals are going to look so pretty scattered on the aisle and your daughter will be so sweet going down it! Your rings are gorgeous and truly one of a kind. I love the shirts that you had made for your bridal party. We did ours from the one that does Disney pics--can't think of the name of it right now. You are going to have a beautiful wedding. And like everyone else has said--you look beautiful and great in the wedding dress pic--and you're even smaller now :)
Congratulations and thanks for sharing your PJ!!

Oh wow :) That is so cool! I love my dress :) I can't wait to wear it, and I'm a little sad I'm only going to be wearing it once,

Thank you so much :) I'm happy to share my PJ with everyone. It honestly helps me to keep organized... and if it helps anyone else out... then awesome!

LOVE your PJ! I'm a 2x preeclampsia survivor myself, so glad to hear you and your DD are alright.

I adore your dress, and congrats on getting down to the next size!! Your DD's dress is so cute.

You look fantastic, and kudos on the weight loss. How are you doing over the last few weeks?

all I can say is WOW you will look just spectacular on your wedding day! I cannot wait to read more! popcorn::

Thanks so much! I luckily didn't develop into pre-e until rather late in the pregnancy, so DD was just a little bit early. Even with PIH though, it's nerve wracking until you get that little bundle safely in your arms!

I haven't done much in the way of loss in the last few weeks. Only about 3 lbs unfortunately. But a little is better than nothing. I have a month until my first dress fitting, so I'm hoping for some drastic changes.

Thank you so much for all your kind words :-D

 You are too sweet!

I should have more to post soon. We are submitting our final paperwork this week. Actually... it's due tomorrow!!

Beautiful dress. The rings are amazing, too. I'm sure you are getting more excited by the day.:goodvibes

I absolutely am :) Though I'll be much more excited once we get everyone RSVPed and get the final guest count. People have declined, so we invited "B-listers" and then the people that declined, had a change of heart. So that is a little stressful.

No real updates at the mo'. I started a new diet yesterday and I am "detoxing" for the next two weeks. We'll see if it leads to any weight loss :scared:

I got some stuff to put welcome bags together and I need to get on it! I want to put together our itinerary and stuff and pick up some folders for the bags. They aren't much... but they're already almost packed to the brim. Not sure when we are going to give them out though. I am not thrilled w/ the idea of having to cart them down to FL with us. One of the BM's is driving down, so she's taking some of the favors with her... so maybe she'll take down the welcome bags too.

I just had to share...

So I started this new (insanely strict) diet on Sunday. It is Wednesday and I am down 7 lbs.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Insanely strict, but TOTALLY worth it :)

Woo Hoo, Congrats, I am on the Atkins (started on Mon 2nd) I am down 4 pounds in 3 days. YAY for us:banana: What diet are you following?

I am doing the Kimkins diet and it is AMAZING!

Link for anyone interested.

I will not mislead you. It is VERY strict. It's a lot like Adkins, but more strict. I was really skeptical...but one of my bridesmaids called me fat (ugh).

So then I spent like all week looking for some miracle diet and I happened across that... and b/c I was emotional I signed up (there is a 1 time fee).

And it's totally working. I know you lose a lot your first week... and then how much you lose after that depends on whether you are exercising or not. I think if you are not... it's about 2lbs a week... and it can be up to 5 if you are working out 30 mins a day.

I lost another 1.5 lbs today. I know the first week you lose the most, so I'm trying not to get spoiled, lol. B/c next week it will be more like 3lbs or something... but I'll take it :)

So your day is coming up fast! You must be so excited!!!

 Just thought I'd ask how you're getting on with this detox you're doing? Are you still managing to lose as much? I am still on the induction phase of Atkins, but this past week, I've kinda screwed up. I haven't had breakfast at all and my weight loss has stalled. I haven't been eating til 12.30 every afternoon and by then I'm really hungry. It shows on the scales cause I haven't lost anything since Tuesday:sad1: It's amazing how important breakfast is to weight loss!
BTW, I saw the photo of you in your wedding dress with the 20 pounds of a difference and I'm being honest, you can tell you have lost weight. If you look at your shoulder span, it is much smaller in the second picture and your arms are thinner, your waist seems smaller as well as your chest. It is sometimes difficult to see it on ourselves, I mean we see ourselves every day, to tell you the truth I can't really see a huge difference in myself but I know there has to be:)

Thanks so much Cinderella :)

Summer - I'm doing really good actually. I had a couple cheat days where I ate horrible and didn't work out b/c our AC was broke. So we stayed at my moms. But the scale is still going down. It has totally paid off. I'm a SIZE 8!!!! That means I have dropped 2 dress sizes since April. I almost dont believe it.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand... I know you all probably think I'm nuts but...

I bought a new dress.

Now... I want it to be known that I did try really hard with the first one. I would look at it and love it. But then I would put it on... and I would try and try and try to convince myself to love it ON ME. And I couldn't. I hated every picture of me in it.

Soooo.. New dress.

So here is the OLD dress:

And... here is my NEW dress which was almost 3x as much. But I got it on sale, so it was only 2x as much.

 :cloud9:

So, first of all, it's a size 8 (which may have been my problem with the original dress... it was a size big). But I think it's much more flattering... and it's just so unique looking.

Now I'm just worried about my jewelry and such being ok. Plus my veil is only about mid back / waist lenght... so is that okay?
