Disney announced that the Pleasure Island Jazz Company will become an Irish pub serving Irish food, music and promises to pour a good pint of Gunness. No name for it yet. It is set to open by summer. Though it is inside Pleasure Island, Disney will not charge tourists to go into the pub.

I think it's going to replace The Jazz Club in PI.

I wonder if they are hiring anyone

Authentic Irish Pub to Open at Downtown Disney

Irish hospitality and a bit of blarney will be coming to
Downtown Disney at the Walt Disney World® Resort in the
form of an authentic Irish pub and restaurant. Scheduled to
open in summer 2005, the pub (which has yet to be named)
will feature the very best of Irish food, flair, heritage
and entertainment.

The Irish culture is known for its warmth, character and
hospitality and the new Downtown Disney pub promises to
deliver an experience immersed in genuine Irish atmosphere
-- from food and drink to music and entertainment.

The pub will be warm and welcoming with one-of-a-kind
fixtures and furnishings -- all designed and built in
Ireland by Irish craftspeople. Additional décor items
include Irish antiques and bric-a-brac.

Traditional and contemporary Irish music, storytelling and
dance will help create a lively social ambience and the
friendly pub staff will bring Emerald Isle charm to
Downtown Disney.

The restaurant's delights will be the work of Chef Kevin
Dundon, one of Ireland's best-known chefs. He will
introduce a menu that blends traditional Irish fare and
fresh ingredients, all with a modern flair. Chef Dundon's
credits include cooking for celebrities and heads of state,
overseeing deluxe international hotel cuisine, opening a
premiere hotel and restaurant and appearing in his own
television series.

The Irish pub will occupy the building that formerly housed
The Jazz Company. Pleasure Island club admission is not
required for entrance to the pub.

The CM I spoke with on the phone this week told me of this Irish Pub opening. He had no date but hoped it would be open by July. :flower:

Wow! great!
An "Irish" pub! Not many of them around the UK!
What a superb way to spend a holiday in the USA, going to a themed irish pub, I suppose I cannot spend £50 on a loco flight to ireland, but go all the way to Florida for £1,800 to go to an Irish pub.
Lets hope they have a Blackpool tower, a bingo house, an English pub, a Scottish pub, a chip shop and the must have for a holiday in Florida, an English curry house!
We need Florida to come into the year 2000 and become the Spanish costas of the west NOW!

Nope,
nor have I eaten in an English tappas bar, or an English French Cuisine resturant.
I have however, eaten in american food restaraunts in the USA, Chinese restaurants in Hoing Kong, Teppenyaki bars in Tokyo, French restaraunts in Paris and the list goes on.

I have, however no interest in going into an Irish themed bar in Florida (nor for that matter anywhere else)
