Here's a link to some of my Iris pics. So many more than last year. For some it's time to divide. The yellow water iris are not strictly water plants I've learned. They've taken up residence all over the yard and are crowding out some other plantings. The weather was just right this spring. I even have some petite dark blues blooming now in this scorching heat!

Your iris are beautiful!!!!! I used to have a Batik ( I think ) iris. It was purple with white splashes. The key word was used to. How could I possiblely have killed an iris? :confused3

Just to let you know, My DL roses are still blooming away. No fading or dying. They are remarkable!!!!

Sharon, your Batik iris sounds interesting. I've never heard of it. Oh and my Dis rose is still going too!

Still have more irises coming up. A blue one that's unusual (for me anyway). I'll try and get a pic when the rain stops.

I would love to see your blue iris. And, by the way, send some of your rain to southcentral PA!!!!! :teeth:

We just got a break in the rain! It's still really hot though. Was able to get some pics of the blue irises and the cheapo J&P Piniata rose. I still can't believe I got it for $3.50. :rotfl: I'll post them soon.
The J. Beetles are all over Graham Thomas & Teasing Georgia. The rain washed the Sevin off. I read that they're attracted to yellow and white roses :confused3 Anyone else find that to be true?

I have J. beetles all over the place, too! They do seem to be attracted to the yellow and white :rotfl: roses, but they especially love my J&P baby's blanket roses. I guess they like pastels!

I love irises but this past fall was the first time I have planted them. All I got were leaves. My friend said I planted them too deep. What is your rule of thumb? The same thing is going on with my day Lilly but I bought it in a pot. I took it out of the pot and planted it at the level it was growing

It is possible they're too deep but I wouldn't do anything about it just yet.
Your iris might bloom this season. I have some just starting to bloom now.
The daylilly should be blooming soon too. Maybe it's a July-August daylilly?

I plant irises and daylillies with the tip of the rhizome (sp?) just under the surface and the roots spread out going down. Each one gets a little bone meal in the hole. Sounds like your daylilly is the correct depth.
