I was looking at ipods. I really want a Video ipod but they cost so much and I don't know if its worth it. They look great and all but they have all those little things they have that go with it like speaker docks and different color covers. Those cost alot too. They say that you can upload your TiVo shows from your TiVo to your ipod. Honestly thats why I want it. I watch so much of TiVo and I am always somewhere I think its a great idea. I can have all my music, digital pictures, and tv shows in that little thing. It sounds great but the price stinks. So can anyone tell me if its really worth the price?

Thanx

I have a video iPod. Got it for Christmas.

Not quite sure how much they COST, but I do know that I love it and even if it was outrageously expensive, it's still worth the money.

Your sure because a 30GB cost $300 not including tax, insurance, itunes, or acessories. 30GB is the cheapest Video ipod. 60GB is the one I want its double the amount of memory space for $100 more. So the 60 GB is $400 not including tax, insurance, itunes, or acessories. So thats alot of money think about it, it all adds up.

ooh ooh i know that regular ipods cost about 300.00 dollars. the ipod nanos are about 200.00 . why????
:cheer2:   :Pinkbounc :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Because ipod Nanos have less memory. The regular one now plays videos and holds more stuff.

I've got the 60GB Video iPod in black. It is great! If you watch TV alot then this will be your best friend. All you need is to get your Tivoed items to your computer then to the iPod. They sell inexpensive software that can do this. They are expensive, but thats usual with any tech device today. If your a college student, or your parent is a teacher you get a pretty sweet discount on Apple products. Let me know if you have any other questions about the iPod or Apple products, as I now work at the Apple Store here in Orlando and would be more than happy to answer them for you.

There's no need to bump your thread if it's 7 threads below the others.

Anyways, the video iPod is fantastic. It's well worth the money, not only because of the Videos that it plays but because of the sheer number of songs it can hold AND the battery life.

Oh, I need to get my TiVo shows to my computer first. I thought all you had to do was plug the ipod to USB port on the TiVo and it uploads itself or something. I don't know how that would work because my computer is about 6 1/2 years old I don't think I can put TV shows on it lol. Also my computer is a Desktop and its in another room from my TiVo so I am not sure how I would upload my shows to my computer if the TiVo is in another room.

P.S. Sorry, TheBellHop about my BUMP. I wasn't sure what else to do to start to getting people to post again but its ok since I am new (I joined today :)). I will try to start getting use to the rules.

Well considering my mini was $250, and the video ones are $299, I don't think it's that bad at all.

I also got a Video iPod for Christmas, and I LOVE it. However, if you're planning on getting it to watch videos on, you should know that the battery life lasts only about two hours when watching videos compared to around 14 hours when listening to music. You can buy a power adapter for about $30-$40 so that you can watch videos while it is plugged into the wall without draining the battery or you can watch videos while leaving the iPod attached to your computer. Also, the battery is glued into the iPod and can't be removed. You can recharge the iPod using your computer or the adaptor, but like a cell phone battery, once it has been recharged so many times, the battery will die permanently. So once it is dead for good, the iPod is pretty useless. I think you can still use the adaptor, but the battery can never be used again. I was kinda mad when I found that out! I love it more for the space for my music rather than the video feature, so I would definitely think about it a lot before laying down the $300. It's very expensive, and I TOTALLY know where you're coming from. :)

Oh Wow so once my battery is dead no more ipod?! :( Thanx I didn't know that. Know I am gonna really really think about getting one now. Since it would be for Video with me. The battery lasts 2 hours with Video. I was going use it on my next trip to Flordia. Its a 16 hour drive so I firgured I would buy one and watch it on my way down there but if its going to last me only 2 hours never mind. My mom can rent a Van with a DVD player lol.

For 20$ you can get a car adapter to plug it in in the car :cool1:

The battery will last for a number of years, so don't worry about that. The whole battery running out thing and dieing was on the 1st-3rd Gen iPods, the video is a 5th Gen iPod. Plus if the battery does die you can either send it into Apple, or just buy a little battery replacement kit.
