Ipod touch

My son had the video now ipod--I believe 30gb. He took very good care of this, but because of the use it has now died. It was two or three years old, but he used it all the time-never went anywhere without it.

WE are thinking about one big gift from all family members for him. Does anyone think that the 32 gb will get any cheaper? Any deals for blackfriday?

Ipods never seem to go on "sale", but sometimes you can find deals that include a free itunes gift card w/ purchase of ipod. Bestbuy had that last year. Also, I have purchased several re-furbished ipods from apple.com over the years, and all have worked very well. My DH's is still going strong and its over 3 yrs old.

Ipod touch is awesome! I just splurged and got myself one after my DD got one (8Gig) for her birthday. She plays on it all of the time. Now I have one and my other DDs are always on it. I never know where it is b/c someone else has it! I don't let them on the wi-fi with it though.

BTW, Apple store will give you a 10% discount if you bring in an old ipod to recycle at the time you buy a new ipod. I brought in a first gen shuffle (really old school!) and got 10% off. The saleslady at Apple laughed when she saw it, b/c it was so old!

In Target's ad for tomorrow Nov.1 they have the 32 GB touch listed at $295 and you get a $25 gift card if you purchase it.
There probably won't be price drops for the touch, but you may find more deals like this, or bundle packages as we get closer to Christmas.

My son has asked for the 32 GB Ipod Touch for Christmas too. I've been looking and I am thinking about going with a refurb one from the apple website. If I see any deals at all I'll be sure to post.

Thanks for posting this one. That's not too bad - I figured that there won't be any price drop but we will prob see more deals like this ( Touch with gift cards) as the holiday shopping gets underway.

I wonder if it's just the battery that needs to be replaced, or if it's the hard drive in it. If it's the battery, you should be able to get that replaced cheaply. I know our local vo-tech school (attached to the high school) has an Electronics program that is an authorized Ipod battery replacement center. You might want to call your local vo-tech to see if their electronics program offers a similar service.
