Ipod Touch updates?

DD11 is trying to add a Disney World app to her Ipod Touch, and every one she tries says "this application requires the iphone 3.1.2 software update". Does this mean this will only work on an iphone, and not on the touch? Or is there a way to add this update to her touch? Anyone have a great app for the touch that they like using? TIA!

I am almost positive that when you plug it into your computer and choose 'update,' you will get the newest version. I had mine for over a year before I realized this. I thought that I was out of luck getting anything good, but updating it did the trick.

What generation iPod does she have? If it's the first generation, there are no more upgrades available. If it's a later generation, just plug the iPod in and make sure it has the latest update. Click on the iPod on the left side of the window in iTunes, then hit the Summary tab on top of the page. Click 'check for updates'.
