iPod Touch Best Bundle/Price Watch

I am trying to decide between an Ipad and an ipod touch for my dd. Do they do the exact same things - the ipad is just bigger?

I would say that the ipad is more like a cross between a laptop and an ipod touch. You can surf the web on it (if you have a wi fi connection or buy the 3G model) and the websites dont need to be designed for mobile devices. It has touchscreen features like the ipod touch. It does not take pictures or video. It doesnt have facetime. They both handle music thru itunes. They both will play videos streamed thru netflix but the ipad screen is bigger. They both are capable of handling ebooks but both of them are backlit screens so they are not as easy on the eyes as an ebook reader.

I need to buy two. Anyone know if I can buy one and turn around and use the $50 GC toward the second one?

The $50 GC isn't valid until 6 hours after activation, so I suppose you could buy the first one on Thursday night, then come back Friday morning and use the GC toward a second one... but they might be sold out by then - the fine print says "quantities limited; no rain checks".

I see that someone asked about the $50.00 gift card at Toys R Us, but I would like to know about the $30.00 gift card that comes with the iPod Touch purchase at Best Buy.

I don't see anywhere in the add how long you have to wait to use that gift card. Am I missing something? Does anyone know?

I like the walmart 8gb with $50 GC, thats a good deal. I did really want the 32 GB though... can someone tell me disadvantages to only having the 8gb ipod?

Not nearly as good at the Black Friday deals, but Radio Shack is offering a $10 gift card with purchase this week.

Is the Walmart deal for this week or for Black Friday? I checked their website & didn't see anything. I have a Walmart a couple miles from my house but I never get an ad in my Sunday paper, its so annoying!

I'm not going to stand in line in the middle of the night for $25 is dollars - esp when there is not guarantee that there will be enough in stock. But I am going to stalk all the websites that weekend and see what deal I can come up with. It will be a fun Thanksgiving activity.

I have a friend who can get me 10% off at the Apple store and so that is my back up plan if no other deals work out. Then we could at least get it engraved. My DD is going to be SO excited to get this for christmas. She has no idea or expectations of ever getting anything this nice.

8 gigs aren't that bad if you only want music and a few apps. DS has the 8 gig and DID run out of room once he bought 2 movies. He likes to watch movies on it so I think I will buy him the new 32 gig and keep his old 8 gig for myself :goodvibes I wonder if they will offer any deals on the bigger ones? I don't need another 8 ;)

We just walked right into our small Walmart and bought the 32gb iPod Touch 4th gen. Got exactly what we wanted and they had plenty.

Also noticed Walmart carries the iPad (several storage sizes) now.

Depending on your state, always keep in mind the savings for not paying sales taxes by buying online.

For instance, maybe the deal is that you get a $25 itunes card from a local store on Black Friday with any iTouch purchase. In our state/county, we would have to pay 7.75% sales tax. So I may get a $25 gift card for buying an 8g (which cost $223.99 at Walmart) but I'd be paying $17.36 in taxes. I could not fight the crowds, order online from somewhere like Amazon and only be paying less that $10 more to have the same deal.

This is true. I plan on purchasing a 32gb iPod Touch sometime before
Christmas, but will most likely buy from Amazon to save on sales tax or
from Costco because of the awesome customer service/return policy. The GC incentive is not a big push for me.

Thanks for posting this, the two PP's. I didn't even think of Newegg. They are running a deal right now for a 32gig with Dr. Dre beats headphones for $500. This is a $100 savings (no sales tax also). We were going to get the cheaper beats for my oldest son for Christmas. I have to run this by the hubby, but I can still get the one from Toys R Us with the $50 GC and one from here and still save some money (well not actually save money but get the nicer ones for what I was going to pay for the step down ones.) And if I do this through sunshine rewards, I can get added money to that.

Apple does not engrave at the Apple Stores. They only engrave thru their website store for online orders.

The past few years, Apple's online Black Friday deal has been 10% off and free shipping and engraving. I love it, and I hope they do it again!!

I found a possible good scenario for people with a Meijer. Today they have a super Saturday sale. They are offering $5 off a $50 gift card today. You would need to have 6 separate transactions. This would be $300 in GC's for $270. On BF, they are selling the 32GB itouch for $295 and you get a $50 GC for your next purchase. You could get the itouch for around $220. It would take work, but a great price.
