iPod Touch App Question.....

My firend and I have recently discovered that there is not wi-fi available all over disneyland, We both have iPod touches and all the apps available need interent. We would like the imput of our fellow DISers on how we can get the most out of our disney experiance while using the provided apps? Thanks!!

I have an itouch as well, I'm not a fan of AT&T. We use verizon as our mobile service. They have something called Myfi. It's wireless internet and is $60/month. It comes in real handy when we're on the go. We did use it for all our internet needs until recently, we got a home package deal with directv for tv phone and internet.

Disney also as an app for most verizon phones about wait times that is supposed to be free.

WHAT A GLORIOUS QUESTION LADY BUG! I CANT WAIT TO GO TO DLR OVER NEW YEARS ALSO. i ALSO HAVE AN IPOD TOUCH AND THIS IS SOMETHING I HAVE LOST SLEEP OVER, WONDERING HOW I CAN USE MY IPOD AT DLR. THANKS FOR THE QUESTION.

Ditto, I have the iTouch and I am also a Verizon wireless. I am also not a fan of AT&T and I hope one day Verizon gets the iPhone, they already have the iPad for Verizon so it will be a matter of when they will get the iPhone. But I do have an iPad that has the 3G network built in. I use it to go on the internet, upload photos and write my TR live when I am waiting in line for a ride or for the nighttime shows.

I have seen free apps that show the wait times for the rides. I don't consider those very accurate when I am looking at the wait times.

You can also go to the DLR hotels and go on their wifi. I heard that it is free if you are in the hotel area. Some DISers said that you can get wifi right next to the entrance of the GCH. I have not tried that spot yet, but that is not a bad idea to try to get wifi for the iTouch. You can relax in the GCH lobby and get on the internet.

I also have an itouch and have brought it to the parks to test it. The basic answer is forget it. I even tried the area right outside the CGH in DCA and there was nothing there. I didn't actually take it in to the hotels to try because that just isn't very handy to stop what you are doing and run to a hotel to check it. I used it to get on the web and email briefly back at our hotel as an alternative to bringing a laptop. In the park, it is useless for internet.
