Ipod Touch - 8GB or 16GB?

DD will be turning 13 next month and the only thing she wants is an Ipod Touch. I know nothing about them. Will an 8GB hold enough - or should I go with 16GB? She only has about 70 songs on her current MP3 player.
What else can she do with it? I'm just wondering what makes it soooo much better than the one she has now. (Besides the fact that her friends have them!!)

If you are wiling to pay more, I say bigger is always better in an Ipod. Especially if she wants to load movies on with her music as they take up quite a bit more space.

8 GB? 16 GB?

I couldn't even comprehend anything more than my 4GB, which has 1111 MB of space left over.

She can put video, music, pictures, and recordings onto it, if tha thelps.

Sorry, I didn't answer all of your question. Yes, she can put movies, music videos, tv shows, digital pictures etc on it. She can also buy games for it on Itunes. It also has wi-fi wireless internet access, as well as a few other applications, calendar etc.

I would say 16GB. I own an 8GB, I hardly use it because there is not enough space on it for me. I stick to my 80GB video iPod. Make sure she will be able to access the internet from it too.

Get the 16 - my boys have tv episodes, webcasts, movies, music, etc. on theirs - it fills up quickly!

My kids also run at capacity, they need to remove stuff whenever they need to add new content.

That said.

Apple.com has the previous generation Ipod Touch on clearance. They sell them as refurbs but reports have been coming in stating that they have been delivered NEW in box.

Well if you have Wifi in your home she can surf the net and all stuff related to such. Like IMing and youtube.

i just bought myself the 8GB one last week.

It has wi-fi in it, so as long as you're in a spot that has wireless access you can get internet capability on it, and you can download songs right to your ipod instead of going on your computer, hooking it up, blah blah blah.

Mine also came with youtube on it, so i just downloaded my fun friend type videos on you tube, and then that way i dont have to take up the space on itunes

Mine also has weather checking, interactive maps that sort of serves as a gps, email, calculator, clock, etc.

I love it.

I will not be putting movies on it though. that would take up too much room. But i heard if you don't do movies, you can put up to about 2,000 songs on an 8GB.

This is my 3rd ipod, and i have not even 2 hundred songs on it right now. i got a ways to go

I didn't know you could access the internet from there. (We do have WiFi in our house.) That is VERY cool! - although - something else I'll have to monitor!!! LOL

I think we'll go with the 16 for the extra $60 b/c I don't want to have to upgrade in a year!

Definitely 16gb if it's within your budget! 100% I bought one last year and filled that sucker up in the first couple of weeks due to all the movies and tv shows I kept loading onto it.

I've since upgraded to the new iPhone and gave my Itouch to the other half as a hand me down. Who am I kidding? He grabbed it and said, "You don't need this anymore now do you?" and scuttled off.

And he did the same, filled it RIGHT up in the first few days.
