Ipod Stereo price question

Hey y'all -

We don't want dancing or a DJ; our planner mentioned offhand that we could have a stereo set up for the reception. I have heard other disbrides talking about this. What do they charge for set up if we run it ourselves?

We had an iPod setup with two speakers that was run by one of our guests. We were charged $250 plus tax and service charge, which worked out to $316.25.

Just letting you know it depends on the location.
In AAP we are charged $380 total with service charge and tax.
When we asked about Italy West they told us over $800.
So make sure to ask :)

We'll definitely ask at our site visit in May; for the time being, I'll assume that since our reception will be at either the Grand Floridian or the Napa room that our set up charge will be on the "lower" end of the price range. $800 seems insane. Holy cow. :crazy2:

No prob.
I even asked if I could bring our own speaker. We have this cheap speaker that works wonders. Even if we end up destroying it while we're there we wouldn't worry about it. But they said nope... something about compatibility with their system or something. Heck all we need is a plug... :confused3
They just want our $800... :rotfl2:
 
I think that $800 must be standard for outdoor packages, cuz that's about what we were charged for our CD player and speaker setup in Morocco. But at least we got a tech with ours! :rolleyes:
 
we are buying our own speakers like the bose ones as we are only in the whitehall room so its not a huge room and it saves us 316 and we get to keep it

I guess 800 for outdoor locations kind of makes sense: bigger speakers or something? Too bad they wouldn't let you bring your own speaker, Cseca.

I was thinking about just bringing or shipping our own system down for the ipod, then we could use it in our room too during our vacation. We'll likely be in the whitehall room too, so I'm glad to know bringing one's own system is an option.

Can you do a similar thing at the ceremony venues, particularly Sea Breeze Point? I've got some music I would love played at our ceremony on CD and MP3.

If so, would they let us bring our own speakers for that, or would we need to pay a fee?
 
You can bring your own boombox-style sound system to Sea Breeze Point - it just has to be battery-operated cuz there are no electrical outlets at SBP.
