iPod question

Hi everyone,

DH needs a new iPod and I was going to get him one for the holidays. His 2g one is getting old plus isn't nearly big enough for his music collection. But, when I go out to Amazon and read the reviews of the latest iPod classic (160g), many say the sound is inferior to previous models. I guess I'm just looking for confirmation or rebuttal on those reviews....anyone have experience with the new models? TIA

I just got an ipod touch this summer and I love mine. It holds all my music plus my TV shows.

I also have a nano and a shuffle but both models are not made anymore and really have been updated. If I had to give them up totally I would go with the ipod touch even though it is a larger size.

DW has the 160 gb classic. I bought it for her last Christmas, so I believe it is the current generation. I read the same reviews. She has no complaints, but is not terribly picky about sound. She hasn't found any difference between it and her previous ipod (a 30 gig classic). She really wanted all her music and audiobooks with her at all times and did not want to mess with any custom synching. Her only complaint is that the headphone Apple provides tend not to last very long. That annoys her.

I have a 32 gb touch. Love it. Haven't heard a real difference between it and the classic, but I'm not picky either. Someone with a trained ear might hear a difference, but that's not me.

Personally, I like the touch.
