Ipod Question - Need help / advice

In my experience, your success with these is related to where you live and how many radio stations they have. I used to use one and it was great until a few more stations came on line and now I cannot find a clear station.

Does she have a cassette player in her car? To be honest, ugly as it is, my best sound (pre AUX jack) was through a cassette adapter.

Good luck!

I agree....our van is an older model and still has a cassette player. I've had much better luck using the cassette adapter than I ever did with the radio frequency unit. I live in Northeast Wisconsin, so you'd think there wouldn't be a lot of problems finding a radio frequency to use, but I've never had good luck with it.

I tend to use the radio frequency unit to power the iPod on long trips, while still playing it through the cassette adapter. At least I can keep my iPod charged on those long trips! ::MinnieMo

well there are many ways to go actually. i work at best buy as the car electronics installation manager i would suggest a wired fm mod its the same as the belkin and monster i trip but you have no static at all it runs 140 to 150 but not to have static its worth it. pm me if you have any one has any questions just let me know the make model and year of the car and i will give you your options to get your ipod sounding great.

I guess I've just been lucky with my iPod Touch. I have the simple, less than $20 attachment that I posted a link to above (someone was selling on e-Bay, mine is similar) and I have great, clear reception with the iPod anywhere in the truck. I use FM 89.7 as I have found the lower part of the band to be easier to find a station.

When I drive into the city (Atlanta) there is a PBS station that can interfere so I put the iPod in the cup holder (which in a GMC truck is really close to the radio) problem solved. *Note* My truck is an older model, a 1996. The radio is standard with both cassette and CD. When I use the cassette adapter I heard some buzz plus I was tied to a two foot range.

Here is the link again so you can see what the device looks like:
