iPod owners

Can someone please tell me what accessories are needed for your iPod - getting one for DH and would like him to be able to use it right away. I'm assuming I'll need the the dock unit and some earphones (do they come with the ipod or seperately?).

Do I need special software for this? We don't have an Apple computer. Thanks, all.

Awesome - that's what I was hoping to hear! Looks like you can go crazy with accessories. I'll leave that up to him after the gift! As long as he can use it right away my job is done! LOL

Well you pretty much have to if you want it to equal up to other players these days

My fav accesssory is the one that allows you to download your digital photos.

(Personally I have used other devices and find the IPOD to be better for me)

You don't *need* the dock, but it's nice to have! As others have said, it comes with everything you need. Ear buds (headphones) are included, but you may want to upgrade the eventually as there are better quality ones out there.

Since you have a PC, just make sure that it has a Firewire card installed (or USB 2.0 which is slower than Firewire).
