I synced my iPhone 3G on Sunday and updated the software to 4.2.1. Since doing that, my iPod doesn't work. It just says "no content." I tried downloading a podcast from the iTunes store. It downloads fine but when I go back to the iPod it still says "no content."

Anyone else experiencing this or have any ideas how to correct it.

I wish that when companies released software updates, they would keep the most recent version available so that if the update doesn't work you could go back to the previous version until they correct the bugs.

This might help. Apparently it is a problem a lot of people are having.

I'm sure Steve would tell you that you are just holding it wrong...and it is a feature.

Thanks. I'll try that when I get home tonight. I figured it wasn't just me.

I did the update to my Ipod touch over the weekend. A bunch of my apps are gone and now my battery drains in one day w/o even using it! What's that about? So not happy and now wish I hadn't updated it :(

My music would not play after the update on my itouch. Went back and sync'd again and all was fine.

My iPod touch 2nd generation totally bricked after I updated to 4.2.1. I had to restore it to factory settings and re-load everything. I'm glad it was all still in iTunes. But I'm really nervous about updating my iPad now...

I tell everyone who listens they should wait before updating a wifi only iPad to 4.2. With a 3G iPad it might not make any difference but 4.2 creates a major hassle in the wifi iPad keeping a network connection.

Apple is getting roasted on its own discussion boards for releasing 4.2 with such an obvious problem.

I have it on mine. The wifi connection will drop without any rhyme or reason (or warning, for that matter). I have to renew the "lease" to the DHCP server (my wifi router) but that is a hassle to have to do more than once a week (and the problem can happen as often as several times an hour).

I've found nothing in version 4.2 that makes me think the update is warranted in light of the problems it has created. Rumor is that Apple is not long away from releasing 4.3, which will hopefully solve this bug.

Wow! Thanks, Jack. I hadn't heard that about the WiFi (which is what I have). I think I'll be waiting for 4.3, thank you very much!

I discovered another problem over the weekend. My phone wasn't working. When I clicked on the phone icon, the keyboard came up but the screen was frozen and I couldn't do anything. I synced the phone again and it corrected the problem. Everything needs to be working properly now.
