ipod nano 5th generation

Does anyone know where we can still get a 5th generaltion, 8GB ipod nano for a decent price? Thinking of one for our son for Christmas. Older daughter has one so we are familiar with, and like, this model. Thanks!

I was in my Meijer store yesterday and they had them clearanced for $108 - I don't think you have Meijer there but you might want to check at local stores and see if they are clearancing them.

I got 2 refurbs directly from Apple for $99 each about a month ago. When the new generation came out all the b&m stores clearanced them and sold out quickly.

Be careful with ebay...just noticed that some say it's a Chinese model that won't work w/ itunes. Just read the entire description before bidding.

We liked the 5th generation better too, so we just bought 2 refurbished from Apple.com for $99 with free shipping. Comes with a year warrenty and all. We checked other stores around where we live and no one had them just the new ones.

This is what we did. It comes packaged in a brand new box with the warranty as noted above. Direct from Apple. Your son (and mine) will never know the difference.

I like that Apple is putting the same warranty as a brand new one on it. I've bought refurb things in the past from other companies & been very happy with them.

They also put on a brand new faceplate so no scratches and looks brand new!

5th has a video camera built in.

5th also has a "shinier" finish, 4th is more of a matte finish.

I was always leery about buying one refurbished but with a warranty? Sorry I bought the next generatio. Really liked the 5th!

I just ordered the refurbed nano 5th gen from apple yesterday after getting some advice here. We went around to our local stores, and the all were out of new ones, and my son really wants one for his birthday. It was 99$, and I've only heard good things from those who've bought refurbed from apple.

I got Dd a 1st gen shuffle several years ago and she has had no problems with it. She lost her earbuds and wants new ones but she is getting the 5th generation Nano this year!! She will be so surprised!! For the price I just could not find a better deal.

Does anyone know what the video quailty (sound) is like? I was thinking about getting my DD9 a 5th gen for Christmas. She is using my old one that is about ready for the trash (bought used). She really need the video for her piano lessons. We tape the instructor playing any piece that gives her trouble then she can watch and listen when we get home. My ipod touch sound recorder is not load enough and she really wants to see the hand positions.
