Ipod Engraving Ideas

I will be ordeing an Ipod nano for my daughter and the website offers free engraving. She is 12...
should I have our phone # engraved?
Merry Christmas, Love Mom and Dad?
or some kind of meaningful quote?
Other ideas are welcome!
This question is actuallly what is preventing me from ordering right now!

I teach high school and was talking about wanting an engraved iPod from DH for Christmas. One of the girls said that she got one last year and her parents engraved "Merry Christmas" and a cute note on it. She was a bit miffed - she wanted her name on it in case it got stolen! Makes total sense to me, just never thought a teen would think this way! I guess teenagers can be practical at times!! (Oh, and I do consider her to be "in the know" in terms of what's cool and what "all the kids" are doing - something that's pretty important to the teen set...)

I think a first name or maybe monogrammed initials?? I'd be nervous about a phone number as those can change and you wouldn't want everyone in the school to have it if it were misplaced. I suggest something specific to your child-an important date, nickname, something unique but not embarassing!

I just had my ds's name engraved on his. I thought about doing "Merry Christmas Matthew" but decided against it.

He loves it and like another poster said this way it has his name on it if something happens to it.

When my niece and nephew were kids, one would always take the last cookie, or whatever, and say "I licked this one." So when my sister got my niece and IPod, she had "I licked this one" engraved on the back!

That is exactly what we engraved on our DD's ipod.

My husband knows I love country music so when he ordered my Nano he had "Play Something Country" by Brooks & Dunn on the back. This year we ordered our 10 yr old a Shuffle and he had engraved the nickname her 3yr old sister gave her so it says "Shuggie Woo-Woo's Ipod". I thought that was too cute.

If i had the option of having my engraved I would have loved my name on it that way if it got stolen someone would know it was mine and couldn't claim it for their own. It also would prevent kids from reselling it since the name is there.

When I got the nano for my daughter, I had a funny nickname she gave herself engraved on it. It only means something within the family, and no one other than the four of us would appreciate the meaning.

Be the change you want to see" or something like that. He's a tree hugging pacifist.

For dd7, I just had her name engraved. If I was doing it for dd12, I definitely would not put a phrase - because she is way too cool for that! Whatever I came up with would be very geeky!
