iPod backup

What's the best media for backing up your iTunes library? I'm looking at about 5 G worth of memory.

I just use my iPod as a backup for my iTunes library, the only problem is that if you needed to get the data back from the iPod to your computer you'd need to use special software to do it (Senuti is a good free one for Mac, I don't really know any for Windows, sorry)

It is also a really good idea to purchase an external hard drive so heaven forbid should your computer crash you have everything backed up not just you ipod. I almost lost pictures because of this. It just depends how much your informations means to you.
