Anyone else that uses iPhoto having problems after the last system updates? Since we updated everything for the iPhone iOS4 update I've had nothing but problems with iPhoto crashing or first having the photo screen area go black when trying to edit or adjust anything. This is from an iPhoto library that existed prior to the updates. I tried doing the whole library update and optimization thing, and it helped a little, but it still wants to end up crashing after a few minutes or less. I can open a few photos and adjust them, then close iPhoto, then reopen and repeat and manage to not lose all of my work, but aside from that it will just crash on me if I let it go any further.

Anyone else? Any fixes that you've tried work?

I've had the same problem. My photo library is somewhere around 88 Gig, so not tiny, but not insanely huge either. It does seem to have started recently and makes working in iPhoto pretty painful. I tried all of the rebuild library options and it seemed to make it slightly more usable, but the problem persists.

I am running on a 2GHz Intel Core Duo Macbook with 2Gig of RAM and a 7200 RPM 500 Gig hard drive. My initial thought was that I needed to upgrade to a more modern macbook, but an 88 Gig library isn't that big. It's not like the entire thing gets loaded all at once.

Short version, you aren't the only one with this problem, but I don't have any real help to offer at this point.
