Lost the iPhone at the pool. Saw two young adults by my bag on the table. Should have walked over but thought "this is disney" and did not think theft...
Be careful.. Working on tracking now....

A crime of opportunity!
Sorry for your loss. Hope you will get it back.
What a nightmare.
You really can't trust anyone.
It only takes a minute and 1 not so nice person.

People just because you are at Disney don’t think you or anything you own is safe. People will take from you anywhere. People get a false sense of security just because they are at Disney get over that or you will lose your stuff.

Few years back we were at the FW bus stop and left a bag with camera and other stuff not as much as an iphone but went back 20 min later and gone and no turn in at lost & found.

Sorry to hear this man....:sad2:

I hope you had luck tracking your phone. This certainly made me think about being around the pool. It seemed like your choices were either leave everything locked up at your site/cabin, rent a locker or leave someone with your stuff. Neither of these choices seemed really convenient to me as I want my camera or phone with me most of my time. I did some searches and found the "vacation vault." Has anyone had any experience with one? It seems like $25 well spent. I think you could probably find something relatively secure to attach it to. Most thieves look for an easy mark and I think they would probably move on to an easier target.

Sorry to hear about the phone. Any luck in tracking it?

True! :thumbsup2

How sad. I hope you track it down. The last thing you need while on vacation...

That is horrible. Hope you find your phone. I recently read a story about a family who had their iPhones stolen from the Wilderness Lodge pool:

Even after reading this I still left my bag on a pool chair while I floated around in the pool. I kept an eye on it but when I was in the hot tub I saw someone walk near my chair and I got up and checked the bags contents. Nothing was stolen but I felt very uncomfortable leaving my bag there.

I stay at the fort over a long weekend in 2007 they had 2 Disney carts and 2 personal carts stolen. So I always keep this in mind when I stay at the fort. So now all my wife and I carry in our Disney cards and ID’s.

I hope you had the "find my iPhone" app loaded on your phone. It works very well.

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/find-my-iphone/id376101648?mt=8

If you have an iPhone or iPad, this app is an essential program.

Love this APP. my daughter and I both have Iphone so I use it. A couuple of weeks ago when she said she left hers on the bus I called the bus company and tracked the phone as well.

Depending on your carrier ( I have AT&T) they may also have something that will help you track doen exactly where it is as well.

Good Luck!

I went to college with that guy!!!

sad people want to take what isn't theirs...makes ya want to put something in a bag that would color that sneaky hand when they stole said bag....catching them RED handed literally!!!

Remember the evil queen-There's a bad apple in every basket! :(

Its hard to think it, especially when you yourself would never imagine doing something like that, but we never let the magical spell cause us to let our guard down.

Something that I've done if I'm at a pool or beach (where you're likely to walk away from your purse), is put maxi pads/tampons on top of the bag, or a used diaper. Don't judge! It sounds weird, but most thieves in those places are kids/teens and it grosses their immaturity out just enough to give you an extra moment to keep an eye on your stuff. Laugh, but I've seen it work while I was in Barcelona, the pickpocket capitol of the world. (especially the diaper)

If you're really worried, many of the pool areas have lockers too.
