Iphone / Sat Nav ?

Was toying with downloading the Florida map from Tom Tom for my sat nav for our coming trip but then realised that google maps is on wife's iphone.

Do you think I could use the iphone to get around Florida?

we downloaded map from a bit torent site and put on a sd card,so cost less than £10.00
As for the iphone dont forget there is charges as your not on your network o2 so cost high for usage abroard.if its a work phone go for it

data roaming is very expensive on the iphone but i am not sure that gps location on maps is counted as data roaming, mind u i could be wrong.

i guess it depends on how much driving you're going to be doing and as someone said whether its a work phone!

if its a personal phone and you're going to do lots of driving then I'd be very careful - you could easily end up with massive (maybe over £100?) data charges.

at moment its just a locating map and not turn by turn due to a licence agrement.but i have been informed later in the year a turn by turn one will be out

I have turn-by-turn navigation on mine, and downloaded maps too
Works quite well but i'd still wait for the Tom Tom stuff which will be out soon.
If you don't download the maps it will, as people have said, be very expensive as the maps are constantly streaming (being downloaded) from the internet to save space
