Last August we stayed in the THV for several nights. My DN and her son joined us. She lost her phone while we were there. We searched everywhere for that phone and couldn't find it. We opened the sofa beds and searched in there too. She reported the loss to the front desk at SSR. Guess what showed up a week before Christmas??? The phone. We couldn't believe it - no explanation where it was found.

The interesting part is, way back in the late 80's we took this same neice to WDW and stayed at the POLY. Long story short we checked out of the POLY to move to the old THV, and she forgot her Teddy Bear. He was wrapped up in the bed linens. We called about an hour after check out, the bed linens had already gone to the laundry. We had little hope for seeing Teddy ever again. We go home, life goes on, 6 weeks later called to tell me Teddy just arrived - freshly laundered with a new eye (he was missing an eye).

How funny is that??? I think the THV are good luck for my family. ;)

This is truly awesome!!! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

I think that is great. I'm glad she found it.

With the ipone you can also use the find my iphone app. Whenever someone in our house can't find their phone they can go to a computer or other device, log-in and see where there phone is. No more searching. With the app you can have it ring or chime so you can hear it and it's helpful when you can't find it.

I'm glad you had a happy story in the end.

That's great! We were hoping for similar "magic" with a Kindle Fire that our nephew lost at Jambo House on the CL last summer. We are almost 100% certain that it fell into a crevice in the living room sofabed. Despite multiple calls to lost and found at the resort, it still has not been turned in. The funny thing is, when we transferred over to BLT, we found a Nintendo DS tucked in a crevice of the chair-bed. We, of course, promptly turned it in to the front desk.

When we were at Kidani in December, we considered going over to Jambo and knocking on the door of the suite to see if the guests would let us search the couch, but we figured we might be taken away by security:lmao:

I agree with others, the find my iPhone app is great. We love how it can make the device ring an alarm to help locate it. That function works even if the phone is in the silence mode.

About 2 years ago we stayed at BLT in Feb - moved the sleeper chair about a foot for better tv view and found 2 gift boxes crushed under the chair with little girls brand new disney shirts in the boxes (tags still on I think probably from x-mas). We did turn them in hope they found the owners.

I do love that Disney resorts try their best to reunite you with missing items. I am sure it costs them a lot to ship these items to their guests. Last May, my husband left a bunch of books and notebooks for work. I called and sure enough, mouse keeping had stored them and shipped it out to us.

When it is all said and done, this kind of stuff is what makes Disney, Disney. I hope they always do this kind of stuff. It is a small thing for them but makes a world of difference.

In 2011, I purchased photos on Splash Mountain and Space Mountain. My DD's face was priceless! Anyway, I forgot them in our room at Jambo and one week later I received them in the mail. It was a nice surprise and I hadn't realized they were missing yet!

I read on this site a couple of years ago that if you lose something at Disney Workd you have a 99% chance of getting it back. It is so true. We were in Disney World Christmas 2011 and I lost my wallet in the Magic Kingdom. It had credit cards and about $300 cash. The next day I picked my wallet up at lost and found fully intact. People were claiming phones, packages, etc. at lost and found. This is why I love Disney World.

we once had DH's dirty pajama pants returned. We realized he forgot them on the back of the bathroom door when we were unpacking. Didn't call because they were just pjs. A few weeks later, a box showed upon our doorstep.

I was very excited when I saw the Disney address on a box until I remembered the pj loss.

I left the box for DH to open...:scared1:

Glad it worked out for you, but I'm not surprised. DW left some of her jewelry (the stuff that was too expensive to leave in the safe at home) in the safe at OKW one time. Got home, looked for the good stuff, and realized what she'd done. Called Lost & Found, and within a week every single item was returned to us. Nice save in my book.

(I did SO good! You'll notice that, in the above paragraph, I never once mentioned the word "blonde!")

On our first trip to the World, however, Cinderella (at that time 2 1/2) lost her slipper. (As Dave Barry would say, "I am NOT making this up.") She had a teeny-weeny meltdown leaving Epcot because we said no to some long-forgotten trinket, and she kicked a precious slipper off.

I called Lost & Found, prefacing my request with the disclaimer, "Okay...you are NOT going to believe this one. Cinderella lost her slipper."

Never did get that thing back, and DD (now TEN) still grouses about it from time to time.

Yep, she's a Princess. But overall...in the best of ways!

I left a pair of sunglasses at the Contemporary Resort (before BLT) in one of the bathrooms. I gave my information and sure enough they showed up in my mailbox! I was shocked yet :)

We were at BLT over Christmas, 2012. We found an Iphone buried in the sand under a hammock. We turned it in and were told that if it was not claimed in six weeks or so it would be ours. Supposedly the owner claimed it. I really hope it made it back to its rightful owner.

We somehow forgot our toiletry bag in our Contemporary room, and it came to us in the mail a few days after we got home.

I also left a drawer full of my clothes in our stateroom on the Disney Magic. They were also mailed back to me.

DH lost his cell phone one day in Epcot. We were called the next day to say they had it.

I agree, Disney is great about these things. :goodvibes

OTOH, my DH lost his iPhone somewhere between work and home last spring. It was nowhere to be found. He stopped in a local police station to see if it had been turned in. The desk officer just started laughing, saying he's never seen anyone turn in an iPhone. So much for that. :(

We were at Magic Kingdom waiting for the daytime parade on Saturday Feb 16, 2008 and my daughter gave her purse to one of the moms to hold as my daughters were in the parade that day and I was in the bathroom when it was time for them to all head backstage. After the parade my daughter asked for her purse back and it was nowhere to be found. Not only did it have her camera and cell phone, but 3 other cell phones 2 other cameras, 2 wallets and my debit card as she had just used it for lunch.
We went to City Hall and filed a report, they replaced our park passes/wide world of sports tickets for the competition for the 5 of us and gave us $300 disney card to make up for the cash/debit card that was missing as for the girls who's wallets we had that was all their money for the weekend.
I called on Sunday and even Monday before we left to go home about the missing purse... nothing. Imagine my shock 2 hours away from Orlando and a half hour before we arrived home that my daughters purse was found, with all items intact.
The wonderful cast member sent it overnight express and it arrived the next day. The girls who's items we had were so happy to receive their wallets/cell phones and camera's back at practice on Wednesday night.
In the 11 years that we have been for Twirlmania this was the one and only loss, and so happy to say it was returned, THANKS DISNEY!!!

I feel like I'm repeating everyone, but we have experienced the magic for our forgetfulness. Our special needs son, who was very young at the time, had left his stuffed animal that was his bedtime buddy, at CSR. We didn't realize until on the plane ride home. Called when we landed and sure enough it showed up at our house a few days later. Love the magic and it keeps us coming back time and time again.

This all reminds me of the Disney Wonder CM who allegedly stole ad iPhone and didn't realize that the Photo Stream feature meant all the pictures he was taking of it were sent to the owner's computer!

We lost a bag at MK once. It was one of the promotional ones you got with a certain level of purchase, so there were a lot of them around WDW.

We described the location where we left it and the contents and were indeed able to retrieve it the next day from Lost & Found.
