iPhone Question: Which plan should I choose?

Can I jump on here? We are looking to get an iphone and I think we'll be ok with the 1 GB for DD and me.

As far as wi-fi at home, if I change the setting on my phone to wi fi when I'm at home, then I can use things like youtube and netflix on my phone without using up my data? I'm so clueless about these things.

your phone will typically connect to any wifi source whenever its available(unless u turn off this setting). You will see the wifi symbol on your phone.

i use about 1.5GB on heavy uses with ATT. I never go over the 2GB mark. If u want cheap plans, go with straight talk... i currently have a wifi box that uses straight talk network(aka att network)

Thanks. I think I must have wifi shut off on my phone. I'll make sure it's on from now on.

iPhone's will only connect to a known WiFi source automatically, they will not automatically connect to an unknown source and there is no option to turn this feature on/off. You can turn on "Ask to Join Networks", which will ask you if you are near an open network, but it is not really automatic or when it is available. This feature can also impact battery life in areas with a lot of WiFi signals.

So, I can set up the iphone to connect to our wifi when we're at home, right?

If you are considering Sprint, check out Virgin Mobile. I just switched from Sprint when our contract was up. Virgin uses the same towers and is costing me $35 a month for unlimited data and text with 300 talk miutes. Three of us have it inthe house and are paying under $100 for three phones....no contract and service has been great so far.

I believe they are also getting the IPhone very soon. I have a Motorola Triumph which I really love. I also have an IPAD and find them to be very similar in regards to web sufing, email, apps, etc..
