Iphone out in November

No I am not getting one, they seemed a bit big for a phone when I saw them. Prefer using my Sony K810 with a good camera option.

However, I am getting the IPod Touch on Tuesday which looks exactly like the Iphone but is slightly narrower and obviously doesn't have the phone option on it.

i think that's the phone i use too....sony erikson with the 3.2 megapixel camera...great phone..

but i don't know...i might break down and get the iphone...i've been lusting after it since they first announced it...

I like the camera too much in my phone because it has proved too handy. Sony are bringing out a new version of the phone with a 5 mp camera shortly which is what I would change to. I found the iphone a little bit too wide and rectangular to think of it as a phone plus I don't think it takes standard ear phones and I always like to upgrade the ones I use with my ipod.

yes the camera's amazing!!...i've taken so many pictures with it.....
outstanding quality - better than my camera camera..

and it's so convenient...i sometimes forget i can just pop it out and take a picture any time...
it came in handy when my mom and sister visited a few weeks ago....

It is supposed to beat the current 5 mp camera phones for picture quality too even though it is only 3 mp. I agree it is so handy. I love taking photos.

I would get it but unfortunately it's a bit too far out of my Price Range.. :)

I would like one to play with and have a look at but to me technically it's just too far behind the times. No 3G no GPS no third party software - my HTC can do all of these things and I can write my own software for it! I just can see a logical reason to change other than to say wow look i got an iPhone.

I am hoping Apple address the shortcomings with future new devices and we actually get some good convergence beetwen a quality mobile phone a quality digital camera a PDA and an iPod - not sure I would like to see the RRP though ;)

Agree with everything you say. I have had an HTC Vario II for almost a year and I love it, I have tomtom on it (which is great for trips abroad), it plays music, it's a phone :thumbsup2 (I'm bright, me) and a still and video camera which aren't half bad quality for snaps of my kids. Its also a great PDA. It also has a full qwerty keyboard. I can load any third party s/w available for windows mobile.
The iPhone just seems way too far backwards for me.

Mine's the same :) Just the Orange SPV flavour rather than the T-Mobile flavour.

Im laying odds that this will be the next phone that Vicki will go out and buy, she is a huge Ipod fan and I think just to say she has one will be enough for her to get it;)

As a side note: You know what this is going to tell you all how boreing and old fashioned I am, but I have just read through this and have no idea what most of you are saying:rotfl2: Ive had the same mobile phone for the past 3 years, I know it has a camera, and apart from that it rings and lets me ring out and thats as much as I know.:lmao:

Me too:thumbsup2

Don't get me wrong, I love apple.. But I just really don't like the look of that phone, and it just seems like people are paying for the label. I'll stick with my Nokia N95 :thumbsup2

Definitely not for me - I'm sticking with my iPaq 6915 for the time being.

Now, the iPaq 900 on the other hand...could definitely be tempted when that's released! :goodvibes

I can set the alarm clock on mind :rotfl2:

that's how i was until i got this phone..
until now i've only used hand-me-down phones from the kids..
when they upgrade, i get their old phone...
i was using my daughter's last phone (i'd had it for about a year) when it broke.....no fixing it....so i decided to switch carriers at the same time...which meant finally getting a brand new phone to call my own....
so of course, i went for broke....not the top of the line, but almost the top....
and i LOVE this phone......

Just goes to show what a blinkered hold Apple have on the MP3 (and now phone) market - like the iPod, they are going to get lots of people interested in a far inferior product to what is already on the market in the iPhone. To release it as a non-3G version and charge that much is an insult.

WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T BUY AN iPHONE IN THE USA!

Apple have just released an update which removes the unblocking of the phone for it to be used on any other service provider, commonly called "Bricking" the phone.
It menas that all these people with iPhones in teh UK will have a brick instead of a phone because that will be all its worth

Yes Obi had heard that, thanks a lot! We fly out the day before it is released in the UK but we will be ordering from the UK site!:thumbsup2
