We have Square Trade on the TV. I've had it before on an older iPhone.

I don't know how good it was, nothing has broken so far

With AppleCare or square trade, you're out the up-front cost no matter what, and the deductible if something goes wrong. So, if (and that's a big if) something happens, you're out $180 for Apple to fix it. You can get a lot of problems fixed, or even a replacement phone, for less than that.

But, check with your credit card company. When my iPhone started having problem, the "extended warranty coverage" from my credit card refunded the entire original purchase price of the phone.
