I'm trying to convince the DH that I need an Iphone (not an easy task!). I have an Ipod Touch and LOVE it. Is there anything that you don't like about your iPhone? Thanks! :goodvibes

Love! Love! Love! my iPhone. I haven't had any problems with it and I travel all the time for work. The WDW apps have added to the love.:yay:

I can think of only 2 things that don't thrill me about my iPhone:
1. the battery drains fast
2. it's a little heavy

Neither complaint overrides the many, many reasons I love it though! :lovestruc

 LOVE mine SO much I need to have it surgically attached to my body!!
It is a wonderful device, I don't know how I got along without it. It does so much and there is really an app for everything!

Apple controls it. They tell you what apps you can and can't put on your phone. Of course, you can get around this by jailbreaking, but I shouldn't need to jailbreak in order to put a torrent monitoring app on my phone (just the latest example of an app being denied). The Google Voice app is the highest profile app to be denied because "it duplicates features that are already on the phone".

It could also use a better battery. I wouldn't mind it being a little thicker to hold a better one.

gosh...I can't think of anything I don't like.

But here are some things I had no idea I would use that I really like....

AP news app - FREE

Google feature - use this all the time when I am on the road and need restaurant info, etc. - comes on the phone

Games to play when waiting - I play the free ones

ability to save webpages to my iPhone home screen - so I can check on blogs that I follow by just pressing the icon

Skype - I use this to call my friends that used to be a long distance call and use up my minutes - so I dropped my minutes on my phone and am saving a little money

I use the camera to "tweet" pictures. This is fun and my friends have enjoyed it.

MAPS feature has gotten me out of a few tight spots when traveling to other cities! It even looks things up by "name" and not just the address. The GPS feature allows you to track your movements on the map so you know when to turn, etc. (Of course, you should let someone else use it while you drive. :rolleyes1)

Weather - I have used the radar a lot! I use the WeatherBug Elite app (I think it cost me 2 bucks?)

WDW apps will be fun to try when I am there this week!

I use it for exercise apps - never thought I would do that.

--Battery life is not great. I understand why, just don't like that it's not better.

--Screen size is a bit small.

--Wish the keyboard was bigger.

--Wish they had a family data plan and it wasn't $30/month for each iPhone user.

--Wish there was more 3G coverage.

Relatively small complaints overall. I can't believe I ever went without one.

yes, but unless you had an iPod Touch prior to the iPhone, you wouldn't notice.

I wouldn't accept any other phone over the iPhone though, that's for sure.

These are my complaints too.

One thing that an iPhone won't do is receive MMS (multimedia) messages. So if you have friends that like to send you pics and other things, you won't be able to get them unless it's via email.

Since this thread is about the iPhone in general, and not about the Disney park apps available for it, I've moved the discussion to the Community Board. :)

I don't care for the fact that you can't send pictures with your text messages! But that's an AT&T issue, not actually an iPhone issue. They're also supposed to bring this feature online "late summer". (Which is NOW....fall is just 2.5 weeks away...)

I, too, wish they had a family data plan.

Like the others though, those are relatively small complaints in comparison to everything I LOVE about the iPhone!!!!!

rumor has it we should be able to do the mms thing soon...?

My iphone sends and recieves MMS (I have the 16gb 3G). I am in England and when I upgraded the software on my phone the day the new 3Gs iphone came out several months ago I gained this feature, along with many others then.

So, if I want to send a picture to someone, I need to do it through an e-mail instead of through a text message, right? And, if someone wants to send me a picture, it has to be through an e-mail too, right? That doesn't seem like a big deal - Just something I'd have to get used to. I'm not eligible for an upgrade for a few months...It would be nice if I could get one early! ;)

Currently in the US this is how it works. At some point AT&T is supposed to get with the program and enable MMS.

It's not a limitation of the iPhone, it's a limitation of the carrier. That's why you lucky ducks across the pond can send picture messages.

We, here in the states, have to wait until AT&T finally allows us to do it.

LOVE MY iPHONE

Also, wish there was some type of family data plan, but other than that AWESOME.:thumbsup2 (not really an iPhone issue per se, though)

Thats a shame, when I was in WDW last month I sent loads of picture messages to my family and best friends from my iphone.

I'm with you on this. I can't stand the way you have to get an MMS. They could at least have an account you log in to with the same password and user name everytime. This randomly generated stuff is driving me nuts. I have to write it down to view the pic. GRRRRR...

Supposedly they are going to allow MMS sometime this year. Prolly just a rumor.
